I’ve been Ollie Peake for quite a while. He’ll leave the rest for dead.

They killed the goose that laid the Golden EggThe tri series was the highlight of the summer in the 80’s/90’s getting rid of it was a big mistake imo
Cricket? Can you give me an example of this happening to a sport that's foundations are in country v country competition?

If you look outside our country, it's already happening. Professional cricketers from New Zealand and the West Indies are already in the position of needing to prioritise club commitments over national ones, and that's before the major influx of ownership money comes inCricket?
Kerry Packer era
Not a stretch to see a similar war being fought down the track between T20 comps/franchises and the ICC/national bodies
Anyone who is playing FC or LIST A cricket at 20 or under has serious talentPeake and Weibgen both look like they've got some talent paired with good techniques and temperament
Kellaway particularly impressive against the leg spinner last night, Clarke and Rogers didn't really know which way it was turning but Kellaway was pretty decisive in either coming forward and smothering it or going right back and playing it off the surface.
There's a few young bowlers warming the benches right now that I'd love to see get a crack like the younger batsman are. Really hope we see Oliver Patterson get a game for the Heat, reminds me a bit of a young Joel Paris, quick enough and absolutely hoops it. Having a great premier cricket season in Brisbane so far this season.Best part of the BBL is watching the next generation of superstars.
That’s all of Kelleway, Peake, Connolly and Weibgen that have looked awesome.
Time waits for no man, if you’re good enough you’re ready. Will Sam Konstas' troubles mean that the timeline for Kellaway and Peake gets pushed back?
The selectors are obviously aware that the squad is old (so are the next up replacements) and needs fresh blood at some stage.
So Konstas was fast-tracked
In hindsight it was too early. Needed some more runs behind him and to have his technique tested more before being thrown into test cricket. Not to mention how hard it must be for a youngster to handle the media scrutiny international cricket brings.
Will the selectors wait a bit longer with our next two up and comers? Let them bank a few more Shield seasons?
Tom Balkin nudging 147k on Big Bash debut and winning the game for the Heat bowling the final over. Love to see that. And all that in the first match of cricket he has played at any level since the end of last season.
Add him to the ever growing list of quality young quicks coming through the Qld system right now.
Callum Vidler's parent's should have known better when he was born that he was going to be in a full Qld pace battery of Tom's one day.And they all seem to be called Tom?
I wanted to have a stab at an Ashes 2029 team.
Sam Konstas
Campbell Kellaway
Nathan McSweeney
Cameron Green
Travis Head
Ollie Peake
Josh Inglis
Xavier Bartlett
Pat Cummins
Todd Murphy
Mahli Beardman
Possibilities - Callum Vidler, Fergus O'Neill, Jhye Richardson, Hugh Weibgen, Matt Renshaw, Cooper Connolly, Ryan Hicks, Jack Edwards. I think Labs might be gone by then.
I thought it should of been Dizzy over McDonald tbhListening to Dizzy on radio, he is a massive wrap for Jayden Goodwin, and I can see why, looks an organised player.
And you can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before Gillespie is in the Australian set up in some capacity.
Should have been Dizzy over Langer IMO.I thought it should of been Dizzy over McDonald tbh
It once was, sadly not anymore, zero depth on any of the sides, no hard heads or players on the wind down giving something back to the game.Sydney grade cricket is engine room of player production. Next generation likely there and haven't played fc yet.
