This was posted on the AFL reddit and a Swans fans commented:

The miracle of blind umpires. Taking pride in this is so utterly cringeworthy.

I guess if you have nothing, you’ll grind out the worst umpired GF of this century and try to make out that that team deserved it.

Good on you.

They're still so salty about it lol

At least they have progressed from a blatantly corrupt AFL to mere blind umpires.

Some might have Toby leaping on the back of Toyd or as their greatest GF memory but mine will always be Wood courageously and ferociously attacking the contested ground ball while Hannebery stood there looking down at it waiting for something to happen. Sums up the game really.

Morris running down Buddy for mine.....

What happened immediately after was also quite nice !!

The way Wood, Morris, Picken and Matty Boyd were attacking the ball was almost suicidal. Those older generation Bulldogs were built different. We really peaked at the right time with those guys in the twilight of their careers mixed with the young blood that had just emerged. I will never, ever forget Easton Wood's rev ups before each finals game. He looked downright maniacal. Do we win the flag if Murph was fit and Captaining? We'll never know. But I've never seen a player look like they were going into an actual battle more than Wood did before those games.

But but below the knees…..suck shit Sydney

100% agree, Wood not being included in the recent top 25 Bulldogs of all time was a monumental stuff up. I said it then and will say it again now. We’ve only won 2 flags only and he was an inspirational captain that year, he was as important as Charlie Sutton was to 54. His ankle was cooked but he kept flying for those high spoils and marks, super brave. Unfortunately for Murphy he wasn’t there, but Wood leading obviously worked and I doubt we have the flag without his captaincy. No one will never know, all that matters is results and Easton got them.

His 1Q in the PF against GWS doesn’t get enough attention. Was marking everything!

It gladdens my heart that the red and white salt continues nearly 10 years on...

They still think they should've and could've won it.

Aww GIF

They should have and could have beaten us at the SCG in 2015 and 2016 as well. Perhaps they should have and could have beaten us in the revenge match in 2017 when we unveiled our flag. That beautiful flag we stole from them when Buddy was tackled by a former rookie with a broken back. That beautiful flag we stole from them after former Swans champion Shane Biggs smothered the Swans defence over and over again. That beautiful flag that Andrew Dunkley's son contributed to.

Yeah, that beautiful flag.

I see red when I read this article. Apparently Brisbane have a right to be angry with the fixture because they only play 2 games at the MCG! We not only get 2 games there, every single bloody year, but if we qualify for a home final we have to play it at the MCG, even against an MCG home tenant! Brisbane are a Queensland team and I couldn’t care if they got zero games at the G, surely we deserve and should push for more?

Code Sports has an article about Bevo and our prospects for 2026, but it’s behind a paywall.

Mostly talking about how this year is Bevo's last roll of the dice to make us a genuine contender.

Saying that they expect Jacques to be the breakout Bulldog following Freijah.

Talks about potential changes we could make on the HFFs.

It's overall just a whole lot of nothing really

It's ticked over January, surely they must be onto ITK trades and FA speculation by now?

Bevo has included his name into the most impressive list of Australian sports legends ever assembled. Pleading with the Prime Minister to have an independent Royal Commission into 2 years of hate, culminating at Bondi. When Leigh Matthews weighs in we should listen. He’s the clearest thinker in football and there no reason he wouldn’t be outside of football too.
Bevo can be a very quirky thinker sometimes…often, deep down he has a good heart.

Mods please help. This is not bulldog related
Agreed, I am so over hysterical voices that hold only 1 opinion who talk the view of others down - this is not the way of a democratic country.
PLEASE stop this particular non-football discussion, so that it does not become a festering sore here.
(If you want to vent there are lots of opportunities elsewhere)
