You gotta wonder if the sponsorship/advertising pressure will start to mount if these test continue to not last the distance.

They have left 7 days on the table so far. That’s what 42 hours lost. If you are paying top dollar to get your name plastered on screens as much as possible, that’s going to leave a sour taste and probably reconsider the $$ next season.

I feel this will cost CA in a lot more ways than lost revenue alone

This series could be the nail in the coffin for CA to sell the BBL (if that wasn't fait accompli anyway).

Just had a few hours to process the end of that test...watched a few things

now reflecting and in all Honestly and as a passionate cricket lover...that test match was pathetic it was a shit show..

a disgrace of a pitch and just shit cricket by both teams who both were spooked by conditions ..its just shit for test cricket

The only enjoyment I enjoyed in that match was Jhye coming back to test cricket ..a 4 year wait and taking a wicket and getting out Root....thats it

it was pathetic for test cricket

I saw an estimate of $25m lost revenue for CA with the loss of the last 3 days. Add that to Perthand it’s a huge hole in CA’s budget.

If it manages to piss off Westpac and those embarrassingly cringeworthy ads our best cricketers shame themselves in, then perhaps its had all been worth it?

Sounds like they'll try and make the SCG a road so they'll go too far the other way and it'll be a run fest draw.

Saying that, our batsmen are pretty terrible I dont think we can bat longer than a day and a bit at best, even on a flat pitch doing nothing

The record attendance/viewership of recent years I don't think is unrelated to the fact tests have been a lot less batter friendly in recent years. Are they getting 90k+ to day 1 if people are expecting it to be 4/300 at stumps?

At the match - both days. My 2 bob's

1) drop Green for Webster - more consistent bat. Doesnt matter that Green is a better bowler - he isnt bowled anyway.
2) tell Khawaja he's getting picked for Syd but that's the end for him in test cricket.

Renshaw cant be far away as either an opener or number 3
I'm pretty sick of this idea of farewell home tests that has crept into cricket. Khawaja is cooked and should be dropped now, not given a token game because it's his home test. Warner epitomised the issue with this - getting a whole series to say goodbye.

Self-perpetuating when they love picking NSW guys and the last Test each summer is always Sydney. (Yes I know Khawaja plays for Queensland now)

It hardly matters.

Brett Lee inducted into the hall of fame.

I don't know about that....he wasn't that good.

Nah he was a gun, performed in all three formats.

Any bowler who bowls 150+ will go for runs but he was incredibly consistent for someone who could bowl with legit pace.

I agree that farewell matches should be "outlawed"
But only a week ago he scored an 80 odd and 40 in Adelaide so I'd be pissed as a batsman to be dropped based on that.
Probably doesnt deserve a farewell match based on last few years but given the series has been won and Khawaja has been a regular for 12 years - Id allow it.

The Hurricanes and Stars seem to the two stand out side this year, and by a fair margin.

Some of the test players coming back might even things out a bit though.
