Honestly, nobody here has heard both sides of the story, just one side so far. I remember when Demi Moore was devastated at Ashton Kushter when he "cheated" on her, only to find out the person he cheated on her with was a person they had 3 somes with and Demi was going with on the side but then Ashton thought he'd give the other chick some...and that was what busted the relationship.

As for good parent, part of being a good parent surely also involves not treating your children's mother like dirt, and having zero regard for your family dynamic so that you can get off with her best friend.

Very intrigued to hear what the other side of this story could be that would excuse that kind of behaviour, and why some people are so eager to try and justify it. You honestly believe they were all having threesomes together?

Bit late to the party here but this is a very interesting post.

I've grown up working-class but had a nephew recently go through sports at the elite private school level in Perth.

What I noted was that yes - the facilities were above-average, the standard of coaching above-average, plus the pastoral support.

But the true difference was the standard of parenting - I'd never seen such committed coordination between multiple parents in managing/supporting their kids through training, games and collective commitment. Every additional camp/program had engagement and commitment from the students, monitored heavily by the parents.

But you know what? Parents could do the exact same thing in the public education system for similar results if they truly wanted to. Collective commitment and shared-values in the shittiest school would shape standards far better than a well-resourced British version of Christianity-school can on name alone.

What I'm seeing at the public primary school level though (with my own kids) are a mixture of parents that give a full-shit, half a shit and not a shit at all. There's still too much parental me-time, sinking piss together at kids Christmas Carol's, dropping kids off at practice and picking them up later once they're finished at the gym. The parents who are heavily invested in their kids are shit-scared of what they've seen and putting down deposits at whatever priveleged school they can afford.

If parents are public high schools were as heavily invested in their kids, they wouldn't be smoking cones and rooting birds at 17-21 because they'd have had a solid foundation from their parents and community.

Great call. And, even if it is a full spectrum of involvement from the parents, the mix dilutes the culture. So where as in these private schools that are heavily parentally involved, to have your parents driving the standards and wanting the best from you is the norm, where as in public schools, there’d be a fair few more kids that you’d potentially cop a bit of shit from for being a mummies boy. Or the kids whose parents let them run a muck and then bring negative influence on even the best kids, they’re largely non existent in elite schools. And believe me I’ve seen it too - parents that are trying their best to create a positive culture in derelict areas, only to have to cancel half of the events due to lack of interest.

Doubtful. A magistrate can set aside a prenup for heaps of reasons, including "unconscionable behaviour", a change in circumstances etc. and ultimately the division of assets will be so Lachie's kids can be provided for.

You'd think any reasonable magistrate would take Jules' public humiliation into account.
