Don't tag me. I have no interest in your leftism rants, none whatsoever.

I couldn't give a flying **** what is happening elsewhere.

And that precisely is your problem - we don’t live in a bubble, we live in a global community and if it is rising everywhere and has been since 2023, what do you possibly think the increase is possibly due to?

Now I know you aren’t a deep thinker but engage that brain of yours, and it has zero to do with immigration.

Nowhere did I say it was crazy bring up the 7th century.. i’m with you there..
I know this conflict goes back many years.

But really.. most of the current conversations we have over the sunject are in the context of our more modern times. And ultimately both sides in the fight have acted deplorably..

For many, there's no distinction between modern conflicts/grievances and what went on over 1000 years ago. It's just a continuation for them.

Problem is when they have brought their conflict & hatred to Australia.

We need to take all steps to ensure it's not tolerated.

Ryan Carrick is a former AFP officer come security analyst and commentator. This from his Facebook page posted today. Hammer meet nail:
“ The Coalition is calling for Royal Commission in the wake of the Bondi terrorist attacks, but it’s important everyone takes a closer look at what they are actually asking for.
Traditionally, a Royal Commission is used when there are reasonable grounds to believe there are systemic or institutional failures that are of significant public interest. Personally, I’m yet to hear anyone articulate any specific systemic failures that have contributed to this attack.
Importantly, the Coalition is not asking for this Royal Commission to look at how one of the attackers first came to Australia – under the Howard Government.
They’re not asking for it to look out why ASIO determined one of the attackers was not a threat – under the Morrison Government.
They’re not asking for it to look at why a taskforce of Australian government agencies and social media companies set up to counter violent extremism online following the Christchurch terror attack has been quietly disbanded – also under Morrison.
They’re also not asking for it to look into how Tony Abbott did deals with pro-gun cross benchers to weaken our gun laws or how One Nation tried to take money from the NRA to undermine them.
Instead, the terms of reference being put forward by the Coalition are almost exclusively focused on “preventing, responding to, and mitigating antisemitism”.
This is despite there being no confirmation on the motivation of the attackers, but with all available information suggesting it was inspired by Islamic State. I have not seen a single piece of evidence that the pro-Palestinian movement has influenced these attackers in any way. As I’ve stated in the past, their ideologies have nothing in common beyond a shared enemy.
Yet, the terms of reference include:
“…attitudes towards, or conduct relating to, the State of Israel”
“Examination of how actions or inactions of the Commonwealth, State or Territory governments, law enforcement and National Intelligence Community (NIC) agencies, media, education, arts and cultural sectors, as well as broader civil society, since 7 October 2023, affected the prevention of, response to and mitigation of antisemitic violence, including the Bondi Beach terrorist attack on 14 December 2025.”
“Antisemitism on Australian university campuses and the arts and cultural sector”
“Whether teaching or teaching resources, particularly regarding Jews, Judaism Israel and the Middle East, are contributing to antisemitism and extremism on university campuses.”
“The role of anti-Israel and anti-Zionist attitudes and conduct in contributing to antisemitism in Australia, including the circumstances in which these constitute antisemitism, and measures necessary to address antisemitism arising in this context.”
The failure of the Australian Human Rights Commission to adequately root out antisemitism in its own ranks and to respond to and prevent the rise of antisemitism in Australia”
The Coalition then want this Royal Commission led by “A representative of the Jewish community with expertise in antisemitism”.
Let’s be clear, this is not a good faith inquiry to prevent another attack like Bondi. It’s an attempt to weaponise the extraordinary powers of a Royal Commission to prosecute conservative culture war grievances and seek a narrative that can somehow link the values of their political opponents to an act of unforgivable violence.
At a moment of national vulnerability, the Coalition has seized the opportunity to exploit divisions rather than heal them, to blame rather than unify, and to politicise rather than lead. Don’t ever forget this.”

Pretty much sums it up.

And you're so different.......NOT.

This site's numero Uno Labor luvvie.

Yes, but I generally have facts supporting my statements, you rarely do and when someone actually does have the facts, your response rather than counter argument is an emoji.

Now read the above post which sums it up perfectly. And by all means counter what he has said. I doubt you can when presented with the actual facts.

Yep.. the only reason the LNP Coalition, and their media rag Murdoch’s sydney based “The Israelian” newspaper, want a RC is to weaponise it in a desperate attempt to beat Labor around the head.

Why?..

Because the current LNP government are a bunch of talentless low life pieces of shit, who couldn't come up with decent policies even if they tried, and who would sell their own grandmother soul to the devil if it resulted in them receiving a bump in the polls.

They, like the majority of their dumbfxxk supporters, couldn't give a shit about reducing antisemitism.. just as they couldn't give a shit about reducing racism or hate speech or bigotry towards the LGBTIQ community.

They have never done anything about any of it when they in government.

Perhaps we need to ensure that gun shops have enough spare parts.

If owners are restricted to 4 guns, there should be a bigger market for parts.
Again, I think it just comes back to proper licensing and policing of the existing laws (and ASIO doing their job).

A simple renewal every five years: at that stage it should trigger a Police Check (for risk issues including domestic violence) as well as ASIO cross checks. Replacing a lifetime fee (which has the just the one, initial check which has clearly failed in this case), with a regular renewal fee would help pay for this process. In theory, it should also allow for cross checking of close relatives flagged as potential risks as part of the re-assessment.

We tell people with a drivers licence it's not a birth right, it's a privilege. The same should occur here.

This was a horrible tragedy, and an evil act, I fully agree with that. But our existing gun laws prevented it being a lot, lot worse. All of us know it would have been much worse in the USA, and we already saw in NZ what a madman can do with a couple of automatic weapons gunning down people in two mosques.

There is room to tweak the existing gun laws, but realistically I don't see it being as much of an issue as the complete failure of intelligence and policing of the existing laws. We don't need a Federal Royal Commission costing (at least) tens of millions of dollars to do this (especially if NSW have already committed to a Royal Commission themselves).

After Bondi and Americans getting on our back about lack of good guys with guns and how that would have prevented it there have been over 100 shootings in that same time frame in the USA including Brown University where good guys failed to turn up.

There was also a drunk dad in Florida the Sunday before Christmas who shot his wife and daughter to death because they asked him to turn off the game. Under the news story I asked where the good guys with guns were to stop it. Whats sadder lack of gun laws created this. The USA just dont see it or they do but are too corrupt to acknowledge the reality. Which is probably more like it. Had he not had a gun, he probably would have just stormed off for a walk or maybe even just limited the violence to assault. But the point is they would have still been alive.

Unfortunately due to gun laws being abused by a few we may even have to remove more types of guns from being legally owned which would effectively mean some shooting clubs will disappear and our ability to compete in shooting as a sport will dissipate. It maybe what has to happen. If we cant trust those who ask for the trust in gun ownership then what can we do.

Very worrying disclosure....wtf were NSW Police thinking.

Minns confirms 'contact' with police ahead of Bondi attack

Story by 9News Staff
• 8h •

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns has confirmed that a Jewish community group had been "in contact" with police ahead of the devastating Bondi Beach terror attack, after it was revealed extra officers had been sought for the Hanukkah event that became a terrorist target.

Nine newspapers reported that the volunteer-led organisation, Community Security Group (CSG), deemed the event high risk and asked for multiple officers to be stationed there for its duration.
A source shared that instead, "junior officers roaming Bondi Beach on a broad patrol had been instructed to monitor the event intermittently".

Today, Minns said there had been contact between police and the group, while not disclosing the specifics.

"Clearly form media reports and my own inquiries, CSG was in contact with NSW police," he said.

And he said the police that were at the event were "clearly not enough".

Minns said there needed to be a "root and branch change" to the state's security protocols, even suggesting that CSG members could be "armed" by the state.

NSW Police declined a request for comment as the terror attack is "subject to a critical incident investigation; a criminal investigation; and a coronial inquest".

Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has said that police base their response on the "threat that exists at the time"
Shortly after the December 14 attack, the NSW government was forced to defend the actions of the officers who responded and were on scene.

Premier Chris Minns on December 16 said, "The NSW Police acted with bravery and integrity. They didn't take a backward step".

Police increased their security at Cronulla Beach yesterday, after a social media post emerged in the wake of the attack calling for a "bashing day" 20 years on from the site of the race-fuelled riots.

Police, with help from the riot squad, mounted unit and water police, patrolled the beach.

Well one thing we don’t need is for the Jewish CSG to be armed at all either.

Once you start down that path then every religious security group will want the same protections.

Just ensure the functions have adequate police security.

Whatever could go wrong? Some visas were approved within just an hour. I can see why Albo does not want a Royal Commission. Who could be able to verify if any of these people posed any security risks at that time?

I would say he doesnt want a royal commission that covers immigration policys because in Australia just like the rest of the world, the tide has turned against unlimited immigration.

But this is the likely scenario.

A royal commission like the one required could take a couple of years maybe which means its findings would likely be released in the months before the next federal election. Hanson and Co have seen a massive resurgence and I would suspect they are watching this space closely.

Australia needs two royal commissions though. The other one is a federal royal commission on the covid response and getting every state to participate. If he does that one, it might distract enough from the massive voter backlash come the next federal election.

How many guns are needed for an Olympic shooter or are we talking about the type of the gun?

Surely 4 guns is plenty enough for an Olympic shooter?

I don't understand what his issue is...
Shooting isn't a proper sport

Ditch it from the Olympics. Don't need shooting ranges either. And gun collectors can move onto stamps.

Zero guns for non-farmers

SA leading the way. Need to do continue to do more to reduce the chance of microplastics entering the ecosystem.

Feels like there’s way more plastic/ foam in the equipment people buy.
You buy anything of size and the amount of plastic and foam is incredible, they’ve chosen to let this industry go and hammer the food industry.
I know we had to do something but eating off wooden cutlery sucks especially when we had excellent pla cutlery which is legal for bowls and cups but not cutlery.

I reckon police and army should be allowed firearms..

By May 2028 election I reckon this whole issue will be forgotten. This issue doesn’t impact most people on a day today day basis. We all thought The Voice was going to be terminal for the government supposedly, it wasn’t obviously no matter how much the Opposition tried.

Most people are concerned with daily issues like cost of living etc.

Everyone keeps demanding a Royal Commission but as you say it will take 2-3 years and have a stack of recommendations which in all likelihood will never see the light of day.

Contrary to what those in the right think, this has zero to do with immigration. The rise in antisemitism is due to what happened on October 7th and what has occurred since then. Anyone not prepared to think that wasn’t a factor is a fool.
