She forfeited that claim later and then started dating him in 1998 after they settled a separate breach of contract lawsuit, so make of that what you will. Similarly Ivana recanted her claim made during a bitter divorce in the 90's.

Believe them or not, the allegations were generally so trivial it was actually a stretch to describe them as “sexual assault.”
One of the many differences between these and the allegations against Trump is that, unlike him, Biden hasn’t provided a wide-ranging confession on tape.
This is your problem — you are trying to make a case that a man who has confessed to compulsive and repeated sexual assault would not have committed sexual assault. It’s not a strong position.

A jury believed one aspect of her claims and not another. As I said earlier, people like Carroll were buoyed by the fact that Trump's own words would make almost any allegation easy to believe and her lawyers flogged that Access Hollywood tape for all it was worth in court. If a similar tape of a private conversation had been unearthed of Biden like the one that was unearthed when NBC sent the call out to the network to find any dirt they could on Trump, then Tara would have succeeded in court against Biden as well. There was a lot more corroborating evidence for Tara's claims than there was for Carroll's. Her mother calling Larry King for advice the same year the incident occurred, a neighbour who recalled Tara confiding in her about the incident and a woman that worked in the same office as Reade talked about Reade confiding in her also. Reade's mother also urged Tara to go to the police at the time

New Information Emerges Around Biden Sexual Assault Allegation

A former neighbor recalled to NPR that Tara Reade relayed the same detailed accusation against the then-senator many years ago. Many Democratic officials say they believe Biden did not assault Reade.

Carroll demonstrated enough credibility for the encounter to be believed in the courts.
Reade has been shown to have little credibility. This piece from Politico makes it plain.

I should have said... apart from the Reade allegation. It's a serious allegation, but I don't believe it happened. Reade has been shown not to be credible.
