God the poms are really flogging themselves about their 1st win in 15 years

How do they ever lose
Ironically i class it as moral win for us as we doctored a pitch without tying and ****ed it up and the opposition won. That's the spirit of cricket right there

CA putting all the ODI games behind a paywall and not fixturing any of them here in January/February was a huge mistake.

Watching all the ODIs in the 80s back then was one of the reasons I got hooked on cricket as a kid, now kids look elsewhere.

My 9 year old nephew is more into basketball and his favourite player is Steph Curry, he should be into cricket and Travis Head.

I would prefer it if his favourite cricketer was Rachin Ravindra but the Black Caps get even less coverage than the Aussie team.
The Premier League and explosion of football over the last thirty years has probably done more than anything to take hearts and minds from cricket here. When footy was a yobs game that you could only see for an hour a week anyway it was a bit difficult to take any real interest. Now it's the most glamorous game in town with untold fortunes to made from it and you can see every game live.

Not Devon Conway?

I edited my post to say Rachin Ravindra but Devon Conway too if he's a left hander, Williamson or Mitchell if he's a right hander.

Martin Crowe was my favourite NZ batsman as a kid but unfortunately I was more at the Jeff Crowe standard than Martin Crowe.

South Australian Sheffield Shield winner Jeff Crowe.

My nephew is into soccer or football as well but back when I was a kid that was called wogball and hardly any kids played it.

It was pretty much just cricket or Aussie rules footy as the two main sports options as a kid, basketball wasn't popular either.

Basketball only took off in popularity when I was in high school in the late 80s when the Wildcats were successful in the NBL.

Pendelbury has a basketball background you know

My kids have organically involved themselves in soccer via school programs and other kids. I had to tell them what cricket was and bring them to a Strikers game to show them.

Pendelbury has a basketball background you know

He made the right choice playing in the AFL instead of basketball, he needed to be at least a foot taller to play in the NBL or NBA.

Luc Longley wasn't the most skillful basketballer in WA but being about 7 foot tall helped him have a lucrative career in the NBA.

Nowhere near quick enough to be an NBA or NBL guard

When even a gun NBL guard like Bryce Cotton can't get a gig in the NBA I don't think old Pendles would have cut the mustard.

Press conference to be fronted by Khawaja tmrw suggests he's going to announce his retirement. I mean it would be weird to call a press conference to announce he's going to keep on playing, but we'll see...

"I'm still better than those other shit campaigners Weatherald, Labuschagne and Green so why the f*** should I retire?".

I used to really like 2nd January as the first day of the SCG test. They then decided that there wasn't enough time between Melbourne and Sydney for this to happen. I think it started as late as the 6th in recent times.

It's been a strange series. There's only been 13 days of cricket but I've had enough of it already.
