Steve Waugh was useless till 1989 when things finally clicked and he found some confidence, so in light of that i think the argument is valid in terms of needing to show patience with certain players. So what you’re essentially saying is that we need to give Green another 11 years in the test arena on the off chance that he becomes another Steve Waugh?
If Green possessed the self belief, grit and single mindedness that Steve Waugh always exhibited in spades, then he might be a chance of having a very good test career. But he doesn’t, and it’s doubtful that he ever will.
Yeah I only meant to post the Ben Stokes comparison.Cam Green is not Steve Waugh
Old Trafford test is ruined by rain every time they play there.Seriously so sick of losing cricket days to Rain in Sydney how many more before they change the damn schedule.
Brisbane Gabba 1st Test
Sydney SCG 2nd Test
Adelaide AO 3rd test
Melbourne MCG 4th test
Perth 5th test OS (teams half way home already)
What is their obsession with having the 5th / new year's test.
Most Rained out days at a group in the history of test cricket is the SCG so maybe change the time they have it.

Smith has zero faith in spinners bar Lyon
Probably rightly so at this point
The whole English team?anything more overrated than the Sydney test
maybe Stokes
Smith is pretty astute.Smith definitely has players he doesn't rate.
You could tell last summer he had no time for Webster.
Then last test Richardson didn't get a go until the test was done really.
So much so he played Lyon, Murphy and Kurnhemann in the same side less than 12 months ago.Smith has zero faith in spinners bar Lyon
Probably rightly so at this point
I quite enjoyed the last oneOld Trafford test is ruined by rain every time they play there.
