England's big chance is actually 2029 rather than 2025 where we still had Starc, Head etc who could turn it on. They have fairly stable batting order. All should be there except Root and Stokes who could even make it. Bowlers like Atkinson and Tongue get more experience. Maybe even find a spinner. Whereas we are the opposite.

A hell of a lot can change in 3 - 4 years.

In fairness I don’t think Cummins was really fit enough even for Adelaide and only played because he didn’t want to miss out. They aren’t even expecting him to be fit the T20 World Cup and that’s still a month away from starting.

Maybe. But McDonald could very well have kept the pressure on for 5-0 with Cummins out

Their big chance was this Series without Cummins and Lyon who only played a Test and Hazelwood who didn't play any and Stokes winning 4 of the 5 toss (3 very important ones).

That's true although next series they will have a good chance.
We have usman weatherald and labu that all wont be there (and not any great replacements for them). Green probably wont be there either on this form. And starc and smith will be close to the end age wise.

Obviously England will lose wood but they have some good pace bowlers coming through and their batsmen are younger so on paper they look better for next time. Unfortunately for them it's not all on paper and mentally they keep botching series they should have won like this one.
