The chance of a roof on the SCG is zero while the trust holds all the power. Yes the old stands look nice but there comes a time when we need to move on. Once the new Brisbane Stadium is finished it will be the oldest/least attended Test venue in Australia. At least a roof would give more play but I doubt it would happen at the SCG
The old stands are heritage listed so zero chance of a roof as the stands must stay.

The standard of the Super Smash isn't too bad but they usually don't get crowds much better than the Sheffield Shield crowds.

Was always expecting NZ expansion in the early days of the Big Bash. Think it would have worked but don’t think it’s happening now

Pretty much every Kiwi/Aus test match is full of us Aussies fawning over being able to attend a NZ
Three sessions

First - RA Vance Stand (I thunk that was its name

Second - Terraces

Third - Grass Banks

Night - Hurricanes vs Blue Bulls at the Cake Tin

The argument I always see is that cricket boards are notoriously shit at working with each other, NZC and CA are perfect examples. The east coast of Aus is as close to Perth as it is NZ, yet we never play NZ.

Personally I think NZ would do better out of the arrangement, but they'd probably see it less beneficial.

I would say just wait until India buy the Super Smesh after they buy the BBL, but at least NZ has shown some spine on that front.

No room for MI Auckland and Wellington Knight Riders in the new IPBBL ?

Looking forward to the derby between MI Auckland and MI Sydney

Hope the privatisation doesn’t happen. I’d expect it to open up more problems than the cashflow will solve

What I don't understand is why don't they move the SCG test to the 1st match of the Ashes?

This happens every ******* year, yet we seem put up with it every year how hasn't it changed?
this again... CA and NSW government signed an agreement in 2024 to keep the New years test until 2030.

Can you give me the jist of what they said?
Ponting said there is 20 tests for Aus before 2027 Ashes so let's blood young players so they have 20 tests experience by then.

Replaced Weatherald with Kellaway on the basis JW struggles with the full ball and the short ball so can't succeed at test level. Then he replaced the retired Khawaja with Peake. Picked all of Haze, Starc, Cummins, Lyon and Boland. With Richardson and Murphy in the wings.

He left in Green at 7 and had Webster in the squad. Overlooked after serious thought McSweeney still believing Marnus is the best #3 in the country.

Katich moved Head back to 5 to replace Khawaja. Also selected Kellaway but alongside Renshaw. Also retained Green. Bowlers were the same but didn't select Boland and went for Bartlett instead. Reserve players included Rocchiccioli and Hardie.

There is talk about revamping the Super Smash with India style privatisation like the SA T20 have done but I doubt it will work.

NZ entering some teams into the Big Bash like they have done with the NRL, the A-League and the NBL would make more sense.

It's all but confirmed at this point. Hence all the talk about CA's cashflow and the ability for them to post a massive loss in a BGT year.
