Ginbey is an arch Sherrin wrecker. Hits oppo players on the chest for fun.

But this is interesting....the person you are pinning your future hopes on, Ginbey, is merely in Richmond's top 5 kids according to you. Leaving aside the fact he isn't for a moment, that is horrendous for Eagles supporters, their great white hope is only in Richmond's top 5 kids according to the Eagles most ardent fan. I am getting 11 more wins in the next 4 seasons vibes out of this.
Is this the same Ginbey with a 3x better kick retention rating than Hotton?

If Ginbeys a butcher what the **** is Hotton?

Hotton is 639/668 for retaining a kick compared to expectations.

I am probably just jealous of Eagles 11 wins in 4 seasons, and massive recruiting drive that has netted Starcevich, Robertson, Fin Macrae, Owies, Flynn, Schoenberg, and Brockman. 🤣
They should open up a fish & Chip shop
5-6 years of spuds right there

Lol.

Are Eagles fans pinning our future hopes on one kid?

No. Only person saying that is you. And it's a dumb thing to suggest, but you know that.

Are you pinning all your hopes on Lalor? Or Smillie?

No. Didn't think so.

Ginbey in 2026 would be Richmond's best defender. 👌 ;) 😂

You are making comparisons between a player who has been in the system for 3 years, against a kid , coming off a knee reco, who has played 7 games.
Good flex by you nevertheless

Also let's overlook the fact Ginbey plays defence where entry level kicking efficiency starts at about 99% and Hotton is a forward who has missed a target with about 16 kicks in his whole career.

We need to give the Egles supporters something to live for though, Ginbey is their great white hope. It is Ginbey or bust for them.

Oh dear, seems I have a new fan.

The rating is based on expected retention, as in based on how difficult the kicks are to be retained. Position has nothing to do with it in that case.

Is their anybody else out there apart from Shueygod who actually believes that Reuben Ginbey is, or is ever going to be, a better ball user than Taj Hotton?

2025 wth Ginbey playing defence and Hotton playing in attack, 21yo Ginbey on the left, 19yo Hotton on the right...

Disposal efficiency: 72.6 v 74.2

Kick efficiency: 67.2 v 45.2(from 31 kicks)

Handball efficiency: 82.6% v 89.7%

Disposals per clanger: 5 v 8.1

Disposals per turnover: 3.8 v 6.4

Disposal retention: 66% v 75%

Credit however to Shueygod for finding a 19yo pick 12 off an ACL playing his first 7 AFL games to compare unfavourably to 21yo pick 9 ball butcher Reuben Ginbey in one single stat.

I never said Ginbey was a better ball user than Hotton, I merely asked if Ginbey can be described as “hitting opposition chests”, what then would Hotton, who is statistically 3x better at hitting opposition chests be described as.

Here you are still describing Ginbey as a ball butcher but refuse to do the same for Taj “29th worst kick in the league” Hotton.

You wouldn't say that, because he isn't.

The rest of what you said is irrelevant.

Hotton being the 29th worst player in the AFL at retaining the ball when kicking is not relevant to a discussion on kicking to the opposition?

Odd.

Ginbey has undeniably shown to be a better kick at AFL level than Hotton thus far.

There’s no prediction there to age mate, it’s simply a fact.

As facts go, it is not exactly at the relevant end of the spectrum.

The fact you have unearthed a 19yo Richmond player in his first 7 games off an ACL who has kicked the ball 31 times with a low retention v threat rating, does not mean Reuben Ginbey is not a world class Sherrin wrecker. Hate to break that to you.

If you think Ginbey's kicking is bad, at 67.2% efficiency, you must think your dual best and fairest winner's is horrific beyond belief, at 53%
