Men as well then. The rest is largely straight forward enough, massive spike with the Depression, dropping down during WW2 when everyone was valued (even if it's 'just' to work a factory or hold a gun, so the 'no one thinks I'm worth anything' thoughts driving suicide were easier to put aside). You can see why some men may have disliked the 60's, with women getting more rights, feeling they are even more worthless now they aren't needed for traditional roles, but you'd have expected women's rates to go down during that era.Wonder why women were topping themselves more in the 60s? Its fairly consistent otherwise.

Sorry "age-standardised rate"?
Yep its an interesting concept.'The purpose of age-standardisation is to eliminate the influence of varying age distributions when assessing health metrics. For example, a population with a higher proportion of older individuals would naturally have higher crude rates of disease or mortality simply due to the age-related increase in these events. By using an age-standardized rate, one can obtain a more accurate picture of the true risk or incidence of a health condition across different populations or over time.'

What is Age-standardized Rate?

Not amongst kids and teens growing up in my days.
Remember this is the days before the net.
You got 12 year old girls committing murder these days.
The world is fk’d up especially western culture.
Spot on there was no phones or net when I was growing up. You had to get out the house and do things for fun.
We had and oval next to our place.
Every night after school we would play footy or cricket till it got dark and we had to go inside.
Only reason for ovals now is for people to take there dogs to shit on them.
Possibly true as there is definitely more different people these days.adolescence/young adulthood has always been an absolute shit of a time if you're "different"
since forever
You’re possibly correct but there is degrees of different these days.adolescence/young adulthood has always been an absolute shit of a time if you're "different"

I’m talking mainly about the 70’s and even the 80’s you didn’t have kids 12- 15 years old killing themselves like you do now.I'm not exactly sure when you were growing up, but youth suicide rates were at their worst in the 80s and 90s pre-internet and came down significantly in the 2000s, but are on the way up again now.

Wonder why women were topping themselves more in the 60s? Its fairly consistent otherwise.
