It’s not just bad luck. Sure it can happen due to bad luck but the pattern suggests it’s not just bad luck.
So out of a potential 405 players (45 roughly every pre season for 9 years), we have 6 ACL’s ruptured in pre seasons in that time - not counting Doc’s third one, as it was in game.

That’s a whopping 1.48% chance of doing your ACL in pre season. That’s hardly reliable data to suggest a trend

You obviously don’t work in statistics, haha.

Your first sentence proves my point.

This club needs to fix the high performance department.

This is not just bad luck, this has happened how many years in a row. I promise you, whatever the issue is that's causing these acl issues, will cause us to lose another player to an acl injury in next years pre season training, I'm literally willing to bet everything i own on it. This seriously has to be looked into, there is absolutely no way in hell that this is just bad luck, not year after year after year after year and so on.

Carlton's 2026 Injury list kicks off with an early season ending ACL for Motsy.
Hopefully our Stars and n00bs can all stay fit and ready to go in R1... or is that R0?

There’s a pattern?

AFL would be bordering on the most demanding sport in the world for what the players put their legs through. Unless you’re jumping off a roof or the like (ie being a ****wit) it’s not a predictable injury.

The only thing you can control is the rehab.

My semi professional cricket playing cousin did his ACL walking down the stairs at home. It’s just bad luck
The amount of ACLs we have had in the last 5 years, particularly training, how many have to happen before maybe it's not all just bad luck?

It's just too many and I would think there are a lot of other clubs who don't appear to have as many as we do.

Unless I see how they’ve all been done, then it’s hard to suggest it’s anything other than just bad luck. Jagga was purely an accident, Doc has talked about how his 2nd one at least was just an awkward landing in a contest at training. I don’t think it’s that absurd to suggest it’s just bad luck. The lions lost like 4 blokes to torn ACL’s in 2024, it just happens

Let the 'Family' postulate that there is a conspiracy to do with knee injuries at OUR club for the last twenty years, that this must be a League driven conspiracy, no doubt led by Collingwood Administration (of which we allowed Malthouse into the inner sanctum, and now Wright has the reigns), to keep our once proud club in the never ending doldrums...
Or it's sht1te luck. Go figure, and by the way have a gander at the other clubs.....

When was the last season we had a decent run with injuries? 2011 maybe? 2023 wasn't a disaster. Slim pickings though.
