Depends on the DC. even with players back if the DC isnt running a good system it will get worse.
the best offenses or defense are not all talent based its a mix of talent and system.

Ill agree Salah's return to SF hasnt been that good. Im not sure he really did enough to get another HC job. I dont like the hire for the Titans and think in year 3 he will be fired before the end of that season

Like next year the Vikings defense will drop off because Flores is gone. and whoever picks him up will get a great defensive mind.

Thing is, it wasn't a good system and I agree not sure he did enough to warrant a HC role.

But moving on, it always felt like Saleh's return was just a holding pattern gig. The Jets ongoing dysfunction gives Saleh an excuse last go around. Good luck to him in Tennessee.

Also, we quickly forget last off season was a roster/salary cap reset, many pundits predicted an at best middling season and definitely no SB run.

I said at the time the favourable roster would inflate expectations and it did.

I sure hope the 49ers have a plan for succession though.

Also unpopular opinion .. regarding McDermott. He’s got fired now from buffalo with JOSH ALLEN as his qb. Obviously an absolute elite talent, we can talk about the team built around josh as much as we want. But he’s had 8-9 year's with one of the greatest players in the league at the most important position, who’s also played unbelievable in the playoffs before this last game.. Is McDermott really a front running HC candidate?
He is perfect for bottom of the barrel organizations , he might be able to pull them out of the abyss and build a competitive program from the ground up.

The only issue with that statement is that Sean wasn't able to coach out some of the wild errors that Allen is prone to , errors that have been present in his game for several years.

Think Allen needs an offensive mind to iron out some of the rough kinks that still exist in his game.

It also feels like the bills have potentially built up a mental roadblock as a result of consistent failures in the playoffs and the lack of progression towards a Superbowl birth.

Some of it definitely falls on Sean, but a lot of it was because of beane's poor roster construction. It is still extremely strange that he survived the chop.

I personally think Sean got as much as he personally could put of Allen. Think a new coach might be able to unlock something different in Allen.

And ain't that the truth. :thumbsu:

Harbaugh probably regrets not waiting a few more days now. McDermott should be be targeted by the Titans now. I think he is a good coach who just struggles to get over the hump.

Bills have tried things like changing OC and new players just couldn't get there.

It sounds like people in the know knew McDermott was potentially going to get fired, surely Harbaugh would have sniffed it.

I don't think the Bills job is a guarantee home run.

This season proves Allen can't win a SB on his own and the roster needs plenty of improvement.

Biggest problem here is the Browns now won’t meet the Rooney Rule.

Makes sense for McDaniel to pull out. He was probably third in line, and it looks like we’ll wait until at least next week for Scheelhaase. He’d want to line up a job sooner rather than later.

Will be interesting to see if we quickly pull in another minority for a fake interview. Probably be the clearest indication on how we feel about Udinski vs Scheelhaase.

Maybe schedule interviews with Steve wilks and Brian flores to satisfy the Rooney rule 🤣

Baker letting everyone know how he feels about Stefanski

I don't know how anything good comes from Baker posting that.

Even if it's true, take the high road man.

Na, he's been petty like that with Steve Wilks and the Panthers too for years now and it hasn't hurt. As long as it doesn't spill out in emotations on the field like it used to, ****'em, call out their shit.

Lol , so much cope.

Head coaching at the Raiders or Ravens is still on the table.

Sounds like a backup plan more than anything, surprised this got out before the Ravens and Raiders named their coach. Might put them off if they were interested.
