‘Easy to have a crack at us’: Everyone’s watching the Saints – and they know it
St Kilda have recruited aggressively and spent big money on their best talent in an attempt to rejoin the clubs at the top of the table. It’s put the spotlight squarely on them.www.theage.com.au

Anyone at St Kilda who expected that the arrival of summer would give them a chance to take a breath and reflect with satisfaction on their hard work off the field in 2025 was mistaken.
Club president Andrew Bassat decided the time was right to conduct a mini-review of the football department
Pay wall anyone?
Thanks chum Sheepey
I love the paragraph that is a nod to our battle against the broken draft and points system:![]()

Gerry is the 1/3rd owner of the company I work for. I've seen him once when the pies won the flag.![]()
Dan's visit to Moorabbin.
Gerry is the 1/3rd owner of the company I work for. I've seen him once when the pies won the flag.
"I'm hoping those numbers we saw last year, via St Kilda, don't become a reality. I saw that as a bit of a danger for the game.
"I think the best players in the competition deserve to be paid the most money and that's not the case at the moment.
"That's not an insult to Nasiah. I think he's going to be a really good player and how far he goes I don't know.
"And 'TDK' has shown a lot of promise for a long time but hasn't probably played up to expectations, and they're getting paid extremely well.
"I'd rather see the better players get all the big money."
I tend to agree. Really weird for an oppo coach to comment on another teams salaries. Quite bizarre actually. These quotes from Chris Fagan infuriate me.
Who the f*** - as a coach - comments on salaries of players at other clubs?
Bloke has just won two premierships heavily assisted by AFL drafting and player movement rules that can only be used by a select few clubs.
It's ignorant and almost sociopathic. Have lost all respect for him.
The Fagan quotes:
