Rumour Steven May up to his old tricks

He's training to be a commercial pilot - wouldn't want to be sharing the cabin with him, but if he is successful, he may still end up on a decent wicket.

Makes me sick.

Imagine walking onto a plane and seeing Steven May in the cockpit as your pilot.

I can see it now -

Co-Pilot - We better pull the nose up, we’ll hit that mountain.

May (Pilot) -You p1ssweak gutless campaigner, grow a pair, I’m in charge! (punches out co-pilot)

The pathway to commercial pilot is hard and most of them are not paid that well.

Just search “Commercial Pilot” on Seek and filter for whatever you consider a good salary.

And that is putting aside any character tests he may face.

From the Herald Sun:
His teammates believe the Demons are likely to try to present him with an option to retire before the season gets underway.
...
The club’s view is that the R word – retirement – is premature because it does not have all the facts over May’s latest controversy.
...
Sacking May in the pre-season would be problematic, with industry sources making clear his management and the AFLPA would fight tooth and nail to protect his rights.

I wish my mob signed up for a one-year deal going into this year. Relocation out of Melbourne might've helped him too.
That'd have been an awful decision. Tylar Young will offer as much on field as 2026 May would have and hes a model citizen off field.

But on Thursday, the prosecutor laid out the police case that painted a different picture.

The court heard tensions began to brew between a group of AFL players and a group of locals at the nearby Sorrento Hotel when May is alleged to have “put his arm around” a woman while her boyfriend was close by.
The prosecutor said the locals, including Bobridge and his mate Will Salter, walked up to May and told him to take his arm off the woman, sparking a verbal altercation.

The locals then left the venue to head to the Continental Hotel, with the prosecutor claiming that May yelled out to the group as they left.

By 1am, the AFL players also made their way to the popular Mornington Peninsula pub, but were denied entry because the venue was closing.

The locals, who were standing nearby on Point Nepean Rd, were allegedly approached by May, with another war of words erupting before May was ushered away.

The AFL players started to walk back to the Sorrento Hotel when one of their mates, who was not named in court, was confronted by Bobridge and struck to the side of the head.
Tempers flared and the two groups clashed, with one man yelling: “Come on man, let’s go.”

“May grabbed Bobridge and struck him to the head, causing the rest of both groups to start throwing punches,” the prosecutor claimed.

“The group of males associated with May and Prestia swarm Bobridge … and Mr Salter then goes to assist Bobridge and as he does this he senses someone coming from his left hand side and turns to see Prestia coming towards him and punch him to the left eye area.”

Mr Salter and Bobridge were then “kicked and punched to the head and body” by the group, but it is unclear whether May and Prestia are alleged to be involved in this part of the assault.

The court heard Mr Salter is now losing sight in his left eye after his retina was detached and his eye socket fractured, while Bobridge sustained a concussion and severe damage to his left knee.

Magistrate Michael King, who sentenced Bobridge, described this type of violence as a “scourge” on society.

Sounds like Bobridge wanted a fight and Stevie May kicked his ****in' arse for him, what a legend.

Should be getting a thank you card from the local council for his kind and generous work.

Everyone should go and listen to Max Gawn on the Imperfects podcast back in 2022. Only a couple of months before May sledged a teammate and got rocked by Jake. It explains a lot of why they've fallen apart so catastrophically. They were a house of cards the whole time, and whilst May was a hugely important part of that 2021 flag he may have also been the reason they didn't win one or two more.

Surely people have a bunch of dirt on May that's been swept under the carpet over the journey?

If he and the AFLPA fight any early termination, there's a risk all that someone will leak all this stuff publicly as a way to justify giving May the boot.

Wouldn't go well for May - he might be "persuaded" to accept a settlement and go quietly.

Do tell why he should be serving a lengthy sentence? Being a DH isn't grounds for imprisonment as you'd be serving life without parole 🍆
His partner got an exemption to return home to Perth during covid to escape ongoing domestic violence. The bloke is a grub and should have been kicked out of the game - that was one of the main issues Bartlett fell out with the board and the AFL over - he wanted both May and Goodwin gone.
