I keep forgetting about Maric.

I feel like if we go up a gear he may find himself in the WAFL.

Seems always laid back, not a heap of urgency about him.

Hope he has a big year
I think he's 5% off becoming elite. Turns over a lot of kicks because he's trying to pull off the hard ones. If that clicks, he's our next Hurn/Jetta (in terms of disposal).

If it doesnt, then he's great depth for wing/HFF. We've done really well out of mid season draft over the last few years.

He's also clocked up a surprising number of games, and he came 6th in the B&F last year.

People seem to underestimate him, but I'm with you that he could get go up a gear.

He would also benefit a lot from a better midfield - would make it easier for him to find an option to kick to and make his defensive limitations a bit less noticeable

I think Marics kicking lacks diversity. He’s always going for the flat hard ones coming out of D50 despite oppo players being in the way. I also think he lacks a bit of hardness but that probably me being harsh. He could make it but it won’t be as a rebounding defender imo. Wing/HHF for mine, where his hard flat passes will be useful for leading forwards, not oppo players.

Article.of afl site about Neale potentially coming next year. Not alot to that part, but McQualter talking up Schoenberg a fair towards the end

Still say he'll play seniors alot more than most on here are expcecting

I like this bit

West Coast is fresh off a list-shaping draft that saw it add Willem Duursma (pick No.1) and Cooper Duff-Tytler (No.4) with its first two selections, as well as skilful half-back Josh Lindsay (No.19), athletic winger Sam Allen (No.29) and small forward Tylah Williams (No.39).

When combined with young star Harley Reid, first-round picks Bo Allan, Reuben Ginbey and Elijah Hewett, and talented trio Jobe Shanahan, Archer Reid and Brady Hough, there is a core group of youngsters emerging together at West Coast.

There’s a proper nucleus of talent starting to come through together who will reach that 50-100 game mark in 2-3 years which could be really exciting

Especially if some later picks pay off from the likes of Gross, Davis, Newton, Champion, Dew, Hall etc. Plus McCarthy, of course, who’s mentioned later in the article

Been looking for the light at the end of the tunnel for the last 5 years and I reckon There’s a glimmer of light coming through now. Hopefully within the next 5 years we’ll be playing finals

‘Tarnish the reputation of Australian football’: Why the AFL is fed up with tummy taps, gut punches

Sensible and well overdue

Won’t stop the chorus of the game has gone soft ringing out the first time someone is suspended for it. Especially if it happens to be a Brownlow favourite, like a Nick Daicos for example (would be funny as **** if it happened)

Just from last years draft we got three kids I would've been happy taking one by one in three consecutive drafts, but we got them all in one whack..we really needed this after the lack of high quality young talent coming in, in recent seasons.

Don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but just a question on the Kayo digital membership, have any members done the “add on” for Kayo? Is it still $350 (prem) / $280 (standard)? (I.e the same as signing up without an exisiting membership)

The link doesn’t seem to work for me

Yeah I did the "Eagles membership" one last week for $350 for premium.

I’d enjoy the mental gymnastics from the AFL if Daicos did it in Round 24 - ruling him out for the Brownlow and a final.

Multiple top 8 picks go out to gold coast and Victorian teams over a decade plus, no worries.

We get a single one and within six months they want to change the system. What a joke this league is.
Well, they do raise Carlton, North and Essendon being the other clubs to receive top 8 picks since 2020.

Clubs have been complaining about this for a while so at least they actually let us get pick 2 and didn't make a last minute change.

A fun, silly, pointless exercise from the Volkano.

Hard to disagree with his top 3, but I can't go past that 2000 Essendon team, they would be 1 for mine.

Had '18 at 19 and '06 at 9.

Fun note, he had the Hawks '15 at 8. I will always believe we were the better team that year. We SMASHED the Hawks in the QF at Subi. We were just not experienced and got overwhelmed in the GF vs a team with a crazy amount of GF experience.
Also, the typical AFL bullshit of having the higher seeded team play at the others home ground.

So, in another timeline where we won in '15, there is no way I could rank the '15 team higher than the '06 team. The only line where '15 wins out is the forward line.

Fun discussion none the less.
Love his little side note that ours should be worth 1 and a half because of how much harder it is to do it from the west

The whole list for those not interested in listening to an hour of Kano
