Geez he's monstered Jhye Clark there, great to see
“Monstered” a guy who just stood up straight and was looking to handball?

It’s a good effort for sure, but Greeves had the momentum.

More importantly, after the McKenzie kick to clear the contest, Greeves was pushing to get to the next one ahead of the other players.

Thats what will impress the coaches more.

One interesting thing from the game is that there was a small group who played very limited minutes and each quarter break they were warming up in front of the goals at the din san end.

It was Ramsden, Schubert, Greeves, Hustwaite, Morrison. Now Morrison we know is working back to fitness but it was Schubert and Greeves that came on during the 3rd quarter not the more experienced players. Perhaps they flip it next week and Ramma and Hustwaite get more game time i'm not sure.

But it could be a sign that Greeves and Schubert have made an impression this preseason to get them into the game earlier.

I suspect some senior players will rest against the Dogs while others will play more. I think in the past all the Round 0/1 prospects we try to get a full 4 quarter game.

There will be no resting players mate and the team against the bulldogs will be prepping for round zero. It will be the best side we can field.

I was a bit surprised that Huss didn't come on earlier but Greeves and Schu have definitely earnt the right to play after the preseason

What excites me about Greeve's is that generally it takes a bit longer for these bigger bodied kids to get their endurance base up compared to lighter framed mids like say Dalton (or previously Tom Sculley).

But as we have seen with Petracca once they have the fitness base to be able to get from contest to contest they can become a real weapon with their size and power around the packs.

In essence a bigger midfielder can get fitter but a smaller midfielder can't get any bigger.

I liked Sam Hargreaves first comment re Ollie ……… “gee he’s a big unit”! At 192cm I reckon he would be pushing 90kg already

Watching on the iPad at work.

Was getting confused at times on which one was Schubert, and which one was Greeves!

He's got the size and he's got the skills so those are two pretty big ticks already.

The question will be is he one of these players who struggles with fitness at a junior level but once he is an AFL environment quickly adapts and trains hard to get to the level.

Or is he someone like DGB who for whatever reason never gets that AFL base fitness?

What is reassuring is that DGB examples are pretty rare, generally players like Greeve's thrive in an AFL environment and he seems like he has a great attitude to working on it.
