Can’t read too much into a praccy, but obviously not great. We picked a slow side and we looked a slow side. The crap ruck rule changes are just plain crap.

Just play Trembath and Curtis. Hopefully, Kerch is back sooner than later.

About the only positive that will come out of next week's game, is that after the Pies beat us by 123 points, their feral fans will get way ahead of themselves and start dreaming of another flag this year.

And their feral coach will start celebrating like they've already won the flag and get ahead of himself also.

Would anyone on here actually fancy our main list to win the VFL? Today’s showing makes me think we might be more a mid ladder VFL outfit roughly on a par with our actual VFL team than a viable AFL team which is sobering.

Next week maybe another wake up call in gut running, spread and system in the summer heat if the Pies come to play.
We did beat them last year in match sim but they had an average team picked.

We have troubled the Pies of late and they don’t really get a hold of us.

But we have won only 1 official pre-season game since 2018. It’s an abysmal record.

And unfortunately correlates with 0 finals played in the same period.

We really can’t afford to be slow starters heading into another season and history has shown that we don’t generate any momentum heading into round 1. We just sort of hope it’ll all come together.
It never does.

Other clubs use the match sim as a learning experience if they have a poor showing but don’t let it define their summer.

Mature sides would temper emotions after a 80 point loss, but we’ve seen this script before. We’ve been through it time and time again.

Clarko’s challenge is going to be how does he keep the group upbeat after today, but also prime them for the season ahead with the message that whatever the **** they spent 4 months working on over the summer was indeed the right call.

There could be no less than a dozen games of football left in his career if things don’t go well.

We've already won by dragging Collingwood into an unfamiliar Sunday twilight slot.
We won by dragging them past the outer reaches of the Hoddle grid.

Darcy Moore and Jeremy Howe both "unlikely" to feature.

I tried to get tickets to this with some mates about a month ago, couldn’t believe it was already sold out.

How times have changed now I can barely stomach to watch it.
