I suspect you have misunderstood what I wrote. For the hard of comprehending, I am very much against “new atheism” and its tired jibes.

I agree with that.

Again, happy to have the conversation in personal messages.

As I understand your first statement it was foolish.

Refreshing not to read "flying spaghetti Monster" or other such demeaning and reductive horsecock, but you will be pleased to know the Islamic "magical sky wizard" is the same as that of Christians and Jews.
Exactly my point.

Yeah how about we just acknowledge that his faith and culture is a huge part of him as a person and footballer and not be a condescending **** about it hey?
You bloody love a virtue signal don't you stalks mcgee? I was literally saying it doesn't matter to his footballing so why comment on it.

I mean it clearly does matter to his footballing considering how many times he’s spoken about it already?

You're confusing what matters to him off field with what happens on field.

My apologies for my part in what was a pretty shabby descent into inanity.

Slim Sweidy has a terrific attitude. Even talking about the drafting process he reeks of a winner. “They have their job to do. I have mine.”

For those interested ABC is dropping a doco following he and Huss El Akchar’s journey up to the draft. Airs on Friday.

I've got a good feeling about him. Driven and hard at it.
I reckon he's got a serious case of white line fever. The kind of bloke that would give you the shirt of his back during the week if you needed it, but would happily bury you in the dirt on game day.

It's already out on Iview ABC. Just finished watching it. The boys are very close and being around family is huge but his dad says he had to leave home and go to the army at 18yo.

This is a great 44 min watch if you get the chance. Had me crying with joy twice. Watch how hard Sweidy celebrates his friend and how much their families roar with joy when their son is called out.

Their mother's relief is a strong theme. Great family story.

I've felt that you can tell the character of an athlete in how hard they celebrate their team mate's wins, it shows how bought in they are, how hard they will work for others when their team's wins are their wins. Serong has it, Voss has it, Sweid has it.
