Not sure the Power's offer of Port Admiral Hotel vouchers will be enough to ward off the Dogs, but good luck to them.

(funnily enough, was speaking to someone that worked closely with a few Dogs boys and they were very confident of ZB making his way to the sons of the West)
Maybe they meant the other ZB

As long as not Hawthorn (and then grubby Geelong), pretty happy.
Actually add scum STK in there too + Collingwood and then Richmond.

Cornes preference for picks over Walsh is idealistic.
We, as a club, know only too well the risk of relying on the hope that early picks will win us cups.
All lists need balance and to wave goodbye to a player of Walsh's talent, experience and character for the hope of a couple of early picks would not only be a terrible message to our players but perhaps even more risky than signing him long term.
When someone of Walsh's pedigree wants to commit despite generating overwhelming interest from other clubs, you sign him. End of Story!!

We’re in a fairly good position atm, draft picks and list wise with the young talent coming through, still some list holes that need to be filled throughout the upcoming years…

We have Cody this draft and a quite large number of future F/S’s on the horizon coming through…

I don’t think many people understand how important it was to sign Walsh regardless of the length of contract.

We can’t have anymore instability in our club. The powers above have been put in place to restore calm and freshen the place up.

Also we can’t underestimate our first and future picks before Tassie blows things up.Having no quality talent on your list now will set you back years.

Not Carlton related but Port are about to present Butters with a monster offer.
Good, hopefully they sign him up, and we avoid that pointless speculation about him coming to Carlton (even though we don't have the picks to get it done) for the rest of the year. One less messiah to worry about.

By Jingos. Stacked HFF line…

Edit, see below. Zac would be more of the need, zip around the ball and disposal

The reason the money was fair was because we gave him the extra two years

Why do the years matter if we are paying him well per year? If we offered him 5 or 6 years, a team would’ve just offered 7 or 8 and we would’ve lost a superstar for nothing

Should have some money up our sleeve. No TDK, Curnow, Cripps & Williams coming to the end of their contracts. Only really Walsh,Weitering, McKay left on big deals in a few years.

Be very happy if we could land one

I have no doubt we are going to be very active and would have a lot of names targeted. These are just two I was told we are keen to have and are putting our best foot forward
Have you heard anything about whether Butters is genuinely in play for us? He will command a fortune, just interested more than anything
