The former membership benefit was a $20 Cats Shop credit, the new one is $50 at the members store which is a decent increase in value

The members store is also the way a lot of Clubs are going - Melbourne Victory have done this for a couple of years, the Renegades opted into it for the first time this year, and I've definitely made more use of it through both of them then I did with any membership vouchers I had

The option to get personalised items is a nice touch and there's definitely more choice in regards to "2026 Member" stock than we ever saw at the Cats Shop where it was essentially limited to a cap, scarf or hoodie

My opinion is that this change is something they've got right

Yeh, but now I can't spend my credit at The Cats Shop for a guernsey or hoodie or something.

Has to be spent at this mber+ store... I few other clubs do this I think (eg Melbourne City), it's just a company that prints and these on demand. Stock isn't held at KP.

They also increased my membership price by more than $30 and with four seats, that's a hefty sum.

OK so today is the SEN membership drive day for Geelong. In the past this could land you a deal as good as half price sometimes.

I was emailed a couple of mediocre offers - if anyone is listening today and hears of any good deals (or indeed if you were emailed any good deals) can we add them here? (Certain codes might not work for everyone but worth a shot)

I don't have the scarf but I did get the cap with the voucher

I like the design but it's not the same quality if you spend the $50/$60 at the Cats Shop

What I mean by that is the white panels feel a bit thin, but it's not bad for like $20 with the voucher

It's not too bad. Time will tell how it holds up. Fairly light materials.
Pockets on each end, separate section accessed from on side, shoulder strap, with normal strap handles and handle strap on one end.
Kind of cool being able to personalise.
Handy for a day out or weekend away.

Did you take the special 'reserve a ticket' option they offered a few weeks ago, or have you basically done nothing (apart from get a membership of course) and it has appeared there?

I've done nothing except open the app to see what was happening - when I tapped the 'Members' option it asked me to log in, likely as I haven't opened that section for a few months

I had a check of that offer and it was like $5 to upgrade from a free general admission seat to a paid general admission seat

Haha. I think I have a post in some thread on this board somewhere describing my experiences at Princes Park, how the ferals treated me, and how the fate of each club diverged after my last visit to see the cats play the blues there.

Heading on down for a bit of nostalgia and to breathe the comeuppance.

I went a couple of years ago for the AFLW semi final - there's parts of the ground that look absolute top quality, and then large sections that really need a serious make over & renovation for it to be taken seriously as a venue

I'm pretty disappointed with the whole https://geelongcats.mberplus.com.au/ experience.

In all my years as a member, this is the first time we can't easily & simply get the year scarf or hat. This "corporate merchandise" portal, that's what it is under the hood, states: "Member Caps & Scarfs are currently out of stock, check back soon to pre-order".

Never ever happened before across decades of membership, even up to the first game of the year, never been an issue. Mind you memberships only just arrived this past week.

I can accept they can run out of stock at times, although again never once happened, but what's with the restriction to place an order? Why do I now need to periodically check back in to see if they gracious will allow to place an order?

Here's an idea, despite it being out of stock, let me place my order, and when you have the stock fullfil, it's pretty straightforward to run inventory like this. Feel like this is one of the things worthy of a call to the club tomorrow and ask for the genius who thought this makes sense. Definitely not fair to give this feedback to the poor front-line member services staff who's not at fault for this management decision.

It's great they've expanded the "options" for member-labelled items, but in all honesty removing the ability to also use the credit at The Cats Shop is still a big mistake. This reduces value...again

The kids were given $30 last year, and I assume the jump is inline with $20 doesn't buy much these days, and everything is pricey. Thankful they've aligned the credit with the prices they're valuing the items as.


Some good changes have come from this, but the deliberate decision to force people to use only this new exclusive store with this credit is IMO a mis-step. If you look at the fine print the % member discount at the Cats Shop these days excludes anything that isn't a regular, full-priced item, and likewise if lucky to win a flag also doesn't apply to premiership merch. Just saying, these little things make a big impact to members doing it tough.

Nope. No "good changes' here. The items I now get to choose from a crap. I'd rather receive less credit but be able to put that towards more options at the cats shop.

Heh, was trying to be optimistic for those happy with a the choice a bag (that can be useful), I personally think this direction by the club is complete sh*t.
