It was definitely a different feeling scraping that win but will always take it over losing.
Some can be too quick to forget how bad those years are where we'd get smacked every week and the only hope is for a good #1 draft pick, it is much more awful than hearing the song after a game.

For us it has gotten to the stage where it is definitely a mental issue now. We look a completely different side after half time.
Sneaking a win doesn't get that monkey off the back.
It will decide Voss' future this year, and unfortunately I don't have a great deal of faith in him. I get that it must be difficult with a new look team and it will take time for it to gel together but realistically we will know the answer after Melbourne and Norf games.

If we're looking for positives I though Carroll was really good on return and Jagga's early work was electric. McGovern and Williams did some pretty important things that you want experienced players to provide in tight games.

Concerns with the Hollands boys start to the year, and Fogarty just cannot play in Round 3.

That was no better than the capitulation last week. The only difference was that a rebuilding Richmond couldn’t kick straight.

Fogarty needs to be taken out of the side - it’s actually unfair to him to keep playing him when he is doing so little.

Ollie Hollands who I’m a big defender of… played the worst game I’ve ever seen from him.

Other Hollands has to be one of the slowest from hand to foot I’ve ever seen.

Our leadership isn’t up to it - great example was when Florent was run down in the third quarter - the closest play to him was Cripps and there was zero talk from Cripps. Just watched him get run down.

Voss is clearly not the answer. It’s especially concerning that he is this bad - because the club has basically backed him in until at least the halfway mark - and we look miles off and have regressed at a rapid knot the last 2 years.

This is going to be an awful season.

Chesser was terrible.
Cripps was terrible.
Young was terrible.
Ollie was terrible.

Thankfully Lynch’s kicking was terrible.

Walshy was good.
Jagga had moments of brilliance but a few absolute howlers.
Gov was one of our better players.

Unfortunately we have no game plan or structure. That is on Voss.

I can’t watch this garbage for another year. Time to make a coaching change before the bye week.

The second half fades have been a problem with Voss for five years now. He’s never found a solution and he likely never will. Just like Teague and the four or five goal run ons each week.

The lack of composure has been a problem with this team since Bolton. Whoever we get to coach can’t seem to instill footy IQ or a sense of calm. No team panics with the intensity that we do.

It’s infuriating.

And I know it’s my choice to feel miserable after a win, but I can’t lie to myself, I can’t pretend that things are getting better.

Some shocking takes from Voss in this presser.. at least in my opinion.

- 'Who would want to be a coach'. Being a coach is a privilege. A highly paid privilege. If you don't want to ride out the ups and downs then wowee.

- 'It's a rivalry game so we expect it to be close'. No mate. Just no. This is the 17th team on the ladder. We should go out there and crush 17th.

- 'When we needed to shift modes we did'. Yeah.. we shifted so much that we stopped attacking and couldn't get the ball inside 50. Trying to hold on from that early in the 2nd half is crazy stuff.

Anyways maybe that's just being too nit picky but I didn't like those things.

Take the win and move on. This team will surely continue to gel and get better.
