Ehhhh, fans have been screaming out for years to make these cars better at following and overtaking.Having seen a second 'race' now i think the comparison to T20 cricket is there. Whereas once hitting six was a big deal - and a real treat for the spectators, you get 'maximums' (the word makes me cringe) every over now. And you could def argue the same would apply for overtaking if what we've seen in Australia and China happens every single race.
Up there with the best we've seen, but possibly because we don't get too many safety cars in sprintsVery good sprint race. Love the tussle from Russell and Hamilton at the start. And safety car, we got a good finish
i was on here arguing the same thing last week – so it's conflicting, i know!Ehhhh, fans have been screaming out for years to make these cars better at following and overtaking.
More sixes is as contrived as more overtakes, I'll admit. Smaller grounds, bigger bats, harder balls. And here we have push to overtake.
The other extreme is zero overtaking aids and before you know it, you're stuck behind Vitaly Petrov for an entire race and someone else wins the WDC as a result.
Bringing MotoGP and F1 programming closer togetherI think sprint races will eventually become a regular race at every event.
Sprint & qualifying on Saturday.
Normal race on Sunday
Are they actually better at following though ??Ehhhh, fans have been screaming out for years to make these cars better at following and overtaking.

Nah I don’t really think so. Small sample size for this season but from what I’ve seen unless it’s wheel to wheel it’s a bit more of settle in outside the dirty air to manage fuel and tires like before. Are they actually better at following though ??
Genuine question, or is it the power usage.
Think the dirty air generated by the car has been significantly reduced in conjunction with the introduction of the various battery harnessing and deployment modes. Are they actually better at following though ??

I think these regs have made things more interesting early in a race. Sprints were basically a DRS train last year. It's nice seeing some wheel-to-wheel action at the front.Yeah. 1 race and 1 sprint in, these regs ****ing blow
I didn't think they were allowed to serve penalties under SC conditions? They definitely can's in Supercars - it's mind boggling that they would be allowed to in F1.Yes Crofty Kimi's pit stop was a shocker because he observed his penalty.
That, and the fact that they're going a LOT slower (several seconds per lap) this year, meaning less disturbed air to begin with.Think the dirty air generated by the car has been significantly reduced in conjunction with the introduction of the various battery harnessing and deployment modes.
The front wing system complexity has been drastically reduced.
