I'm not. Gawn is an endurance beast. Think we get more out of the extra small than we would out of another ruck.
It's more the secondary ruck that will be interesting. Surely can't be Petty this week? Can't leave Turner, Lever and Howes to deal with Treacy, Amiss, Voss and potentially Jackson as well.
Reckon Culley is basically a utility. Was floating forward last week but could definitely see him helping out in the backline as well.
Culley could be the second ruck. Has done it during preseason.
Got the leap for it. Whoever it is just get them to compete and set up defensively at those stoppages.
I’d like to see this. So long as Culley doesn’t get obliterated and give up pure hit outs to advantage, him immediately becoming a mid once the ruck contest is over would bring a different look.

I'm not talking about game style here. I'm talking about Gawn rucking against two quality rucks who will have an opportunity for a rest. He ran TDK off his feet. Unlikely to happen with two guys who get a rest. And also Moose has shown he's actually pretty decent. Couldn't be worse than Sparrow.
Has tag teaming Gawn ever really worked though? Generally when he’s beaten it’s just because he gets outplayed or he’s been targeted physically. He won’t be able to run two players off their feet but if he can halve the ruck battle late then we get the bonus of having more at ground level.
Give him a rest every 6 weeks or so like a proper coach and he will be fine.
If I was Freo I'd do exactly that. Target him and beat him up. It's worked many times before. We will see what happens.
Then I’d hope his teammates actually fly the flag rather than just watching him cop it as we did under Goodwin.
Yep plus less stoppages in games now and Jackson ain't some physical ruck anyway, having Petty or JVR ruck against him for a little is a far better match up than some lumbering bloke
He did a bit of pinch hitting forward last week which I was okay with and allowed Petty to stay behind the ball. But I never want to see him in a cba again.
Yep, happy for him to do it forward, hence mentioning centre rucking not being part of the plan from King so far.
Gawn rucked 90% of the CBAs, were talking 2 maybe a game if it's split with Petty and say Mihocek or whoever. If Gawns rucking those numbers definitely no need to bring in a second ruck
