Toby Murray is 21. He had a shocking debut and hurt his back from sitting on the bench so long, but it isnt the time to decide whether he is the future.

At his age - McAndrew hadn't even been drafted in the MSD by Sydney. McAndrew would go on to get drafted, spend 3 years with Sydney for 2 games, get delisted, train with Norwood, get signed with us and play a full season in the SANFL before becoming our #1 ruckman.

This is why its so much better to bring in an older ruckman than draft a 19 year old.

he was 2 metres behind Baker in that crucial play. That is inexcusable in a do or die moment in a game. How he wasnt protecting goal side is not a good look.

What makes it worse is that on approach to the contest, Laird was goalside of Baker.

Its the decisions IMO. The 3 on 1 back into the middle was a risk he didnt need to take.

The 2 on 1 to our favour was a good kick, just a garbage effort of our 2.

Good opportunity to manage Tex or Fog as he appeared to be labouring. Filthy back to full time forward & T Murray as 2nd ruck/forward.

Give Marsh a go for injured Ah Chee.

Nankervis in for an Laird who picked up calf issue. Gives us a better balanced defence & can always swap with one our wingmen.

Edwards in to manage underdone Soligo.

Not fussed about Jones or Bond.

You do realise that no one is suggesting that the crows go with Toby Murray as the number 1 ruck right?..

Most just want to see him given a chance as the second ruck/forward/bench warmer.. and give him a decent block of games to show whether he’s got what it takes… not give up on him based on one game.
