I think it was obvious that was the "generic you" directed at the SEN figure who produced the sentence in question, my dude.1. I produced nothing. I highlighted an article raised by Gerard Healy. You know him? The former Dees and Swans player. Brownlow medallist at Sydney. Probably knows a thing or two about the city. Take it up with him. I doubt a footy man of his calibre hasn't pulled the number from thin air to create a scandal. He isn't a Cornes or McClure shock jock footy man.
2. You patronise me with that question and miss this bit "No doubt a few stragglers will turn up next week before the season kicks off."
So in essence Gerard is saying that a soon to commence season can only attract to date less than 100 boys for 14 teams and we're 10-11 days away.
Someone's fed them some literally unbelievable numbers. Penrith alone had seven boys and mixed teams in "13-and-under" age groups last year, and there's other clubs with similar spreads. 97 players just cannot be anywhere near true. I think "14 teams" must be off too, really, unless they mean under 13 boys teams specifically rather than all 13-and-under age groups.
Edit: Another similar single-club observation from FootyIndustry
