Bev raising the Mitch Wallis incident and its effect on the performance of the players may have been correct but for me the rot set in well before the injuries occurred. We need to focus on disposal efficiency and turnovers . We were putrid in those areas . As much as I think think Bev made some coaching errors repeatedly missing targets is wholly on the players and they should take accountability for that.

Spot on. The rot set in during the second half against Essendon, which was disgusting. Good sides don't allow that to happen. Last week was rubbish and last night was borderline uncompetitive.

Laying it on the Darcy injury is a cop out and Bevo shouldn't be allowed to get away with that. The amount of times we are left wanting in the coaching box is off the charts.

I'm sick and tired of seeing no action or far too late action in the coaches box. Done with it. It's crap and if the club thinks that's acceptable we're going nowhere.

The skills might be great at times but too many areas are lacking and some things have been brushed over, like goal kicking, which has been disgraceful for years.

The lack of a decent back up (or two) ruck is criminal and the fact we have a cobbled together, sticky taped, hotch pitch backline is just poor list management, highlighted by the almost hands and knees begging of Wilkie, because it never should have got to that stage.

Last night, highlighted even more why we need Butters. We need a leader in there that actually fights and bleeds for the club. We need someone with white line fever who gets in their faces. Libba won't be there much longer.

And if I hear that blond haired SA ragebait ****smack continue telling the world we have the greatest list in the history of football lists in the world...

Cannot believe they let that FN arseh*le kick 10 goals on them

Just absolutely weak to let yourselves get spanked like that with no resistance or pride

Totally pathetic and shameful

This 100 %
Who was one player that could take the game from us Jezza
What was the plan?

Pathetic

It was a horrendous decision to implement that game plan on the skinniest ground in the league. Geelong don’t do it, they go wide and switch as much as possible and come inboard forward on centre. Game plan was off, we needed to make it a dog fight if we had any chance.
By the way out of our last 10 matches vs Geelong only 2 have been at Marvel. As a club our leaders needed to demand better. It’s a joke as so much harder for us to make top 4 vs others
That's purely on our administration. They should be playing us at Marvel every second year . Just pathetic to continually be bent over like that and just accept it.

Why give those scumbags any more advantage?? They already get kissed on the dick by the AFL . FN Cheats

Shame

That is the type of loss that could potentially sway Butters to Geelong over us I'm disappointed to admit.

Or he sees his team in need and wants to get in and lift the joint.

As for playing down there again, it's time the club showed some balls and stood up for itself - 8 out of the last 10 down there is a f***** joke.

Go watch the after game interview. He was almost at pains to remove himself from the discussion.

He went straight to wishing the dogs players who were injured well. And then went on to talking about metal health.
He could have easily just accepted the basic questions and accepted gratitude about himself.
He pushed the other way.

It's ok to hold a grudge. After all he's one of the best players in the comp now (and I knew zero about him until we stole him).

But a grudge is just a place to park your car.

He's a narcissist. Always has been and always will be. It's all for show and the image.

And yes we've all cottoned onto the fact you did 'steal' him.

You've also played 8 of the past 10 games against us at your s***heap, but it helps to have friends in high places doesn't it? I mean who else is going to wave through all the third party deals?

Now kindly GAGF.

Has anyone got the average age and games played stats from last night?
Just a bit of a thought, we are very young at the moment and are going to be very inconsistent at times especially with key outs. I will admit I never knew how important English was to our team totally different side without him

In 67 years going to the footy this is the worst day/night ever. I have seen us get beaten by 100 points plus a few times but this felt worst.

Lose Sam for the season with an ACL
Maybe the end for one our all warriors in Libba
Plus, the hamstring injuries to Lobb and JOD and Bont seem to hurt his leg.

Then that guy Lewis I think he goes by the name Will do the dumbest thing I ever seen in football. Handballs from 4 metres out from goal to a guy in trouble. Just kick the F... Thing.

The realisation of how far we are away is hard to take.

End of my rant.

Show some common sense and post this condescending crap somewhere else mate. FFS!

Certainly wasn't his best game, but it was nice to see Croft get on the end of a couple in the 2nd half. Hopefully he takes that into his next game.
Fair effort in a low score

Even stranger when Bevo was going on and on in last week's post-match and the weekly presser about Hawthorn scoring too easily from forward half turnovers, only to let Geelong get 5 goals from that source by QT, I believe the most by any team in a quarter since 2014.
Yet we let teams get to halfway for fun and don't try to create forward half turnovers

I might be different than most on here yet for me when Darcy returns and if we want him to be the most influential player in the league he should play ruck. At least change ruck until English retires. Should model his game on Max Gawn, the best ruck I’ve ever seen. Big tall forwards are lucky to take 2 or 3 contested marks a game. Up forward he gets smashed by 2 and 3 opponents, it’s actually worse on his body than the ruck. Ruck he would be a match winner every week.

Final whinge from me. AFL is played Australia wide, why do we constantly draft or use list spots on Footscray players. Small minded, Bevo pipe dreams. Not fair to name them all over the years, they are doing there best, yet the process is just too simplistic. Selwood highlights what can be done.

at least it wasnt a GF

Will in my most pessimistic mood I never expected such a shite loss, injuries to our two heart and soul players Darcy and potentially career ending to Libba, from two club player Dangerfield no less.

The two heads clapping two club player Cameron, playing against a club with so many injuries like he is a hero. And cheering two club player Smith ( like if they had a #7 themselves like a Jye Clark he would be so good he would be playing 😂)

Anyway enough of the small town club, we are effectively stuffed this year, Lobb, Libba, Darcy, JOD all injured, what the fucj has our conditioning team been doing, we are only up to round six!

Maybe this year we bottom out, scoop the draft, including El Souki, Cooney and West and get back our injured players in a softer draw (whatever the **** that is considering our draw this year, after not making finals in 2025) to make a charge for 2027.
I have a theory that the stupid bye came at the worst time. 16 days off then a soft game v ESS. Players weren’t hardened for the season yet and that’s why all the soft tissue stuff.

To be fair to Baz, he has always been a great advocate for men’s mental health. I do applaud him for that and think it’s super important.

The thing is Baz showed our club no respect pre or post trade. Sitting with Geelong people during the season, requesting a trade on our BnF night, the Ballarat line and the list goes on.

Yet again the AFL screwing us over.

You there, Bains? Stand up for the club FFS.

With these key injuries we will be lucky to win 5 more games , let alone play finals. It's a very procarious position now ...

Injuries before the bye : 2 (Jones & Lewis)
Injuries after the bye : 7 (Jones, English, Richards, Darcy, O'Donnell, Libba, Lobb)

I knew the early season bye was going to screw out momentum up but I never thought it could have an impact injury wise.

Or am I just looking for excuses?
Nope - agree whole heartedly. Add in Footscray playing every second week and there is no consistency or hardening of players to replace injuries so then they get injured. It’s real

Terrible night for the club and supporters.

Didn’t go in expecting a win but thought we might put up a fight. Some of those decisions were under 12s stuff. Stupidity at its finest. Some average VFL players out there.

The team defence has disappeared the last 2 weeks

As for the injuries, you couldn’t fear worse.

I do take some blame though. I’m usually in Thailand for a short period most years visiting family. Dating back last 5 years we are 0-9 when I’ve been in Thailand
I was gonna blame dogwatch

Because the AFL is corrupt, and Geelong seem to get a soft draw every year.
Even as far as playing west Coast at gather round on Norwood Oval that has similar dimensions to their shit hole

Was thinking the same thing as yet again we were getting smashed. And looking a million miles off being a legitimate contender.
And that's why Cats perennially are contenders because they add known top end talent for relative peanuts. Which ends up a self fulfilling prophecy.
Another example of the strong getting stronger at the expense of the bottom echelon of teams.
The BS of commentators prattle on about how well run they are is absolutely sickening.
Rant over

Doggies, not many teams win down at that boghole, very rare, the Cats know every blade of grass on that sardine tin shaped ground. God help them when Cameron retires, and Danger, they cannot be replaced.
I know you are trying to be nice…but I think we know every blade of grass on that field too. Your Pies on the other hand don’t even know where Geelong is. Once in 27 years. That is a disgrace and no matter why people say about bigger clubs etc, you still should have to front up there at least once every 5 years if the AFL is serious about equality.

It is beyond a joke….not many teams win down there. You certainly won’t win down there

They're so 'well run' because they're allowed to get away with so much. They're so well run because they always get cushy fix-tures. They're so well run because they have so many friends in high places - can you imagine a club like ours getting away with the all the dodgy Cotton On and Morris Finance s***? Not a chance in hell.

But their CEO is the former 2IC of the league, their ex President is now chairman of the AFL and they have influential supporters at every level of the game including the media which helpfully brushes any indiscretions under the carpet.
