Contracts are Contracts - and if you fulfill your obligations in that contract then they have to pay you

Ican remember many many years ago 1978 , Des Tuddenham the former Collingwood Capt and champ . he got appointed coach of Sth Melb . by the owner of Just Jeans ( i forget his name ) -and they had a reasonable year just missed the finals so Tuddenham had a lucrative 3 year contract .

In the preseason of 79 out of the blue Tuddenham got sacked .( Ian Stewart who had previously coached Sth Melb - he got the job again ) Tuddenham sought legal advice . and they told him just fulfill your obligations under that contract - so for the next 5-6 weeks Tuddenham turned up to Sth Melb as if he was still the coach under the contract and was trying to take training - so basically Sth Melb had 2 coaches for 5-6 weeks - it embarrassed them in the end and they paid him out in full . but he fulfilled his obligations under that contract
For a club that was, effectively, broke, that's insanely stupid decision making.

Not sure anyone would want to get involved

He is back with a past relationship
And she is not a good influence on his career

This situation has played out before with really bad results for those that tried to assist

Caro (grain of salt) reporting on The Agenda Setters that he's basically cut off his management team and most of the club are struggling to have any sort of regular communication with him.

It'd be nice to actually discuss injuries in the injury thread instead of whether Jumping Jack has real sources, or who Stengle is saddling up with.
Well maybe Stengle should not even be mentioned in this thread at all, by definition.

Fox dog you are now moving into “unhinged” territory.

I get that you’ve got some beef with me and that’s fine. But just move on. If you don’t like my posts or someone else’s just roll your eyes and get onto something more productive.

As for the mods on this board - wake up and stop pandering to regular and long time posters. If you think it’s ok to let people come in here and bully other posters then you need to have a rethink about whether your providing a safe place for people to come in and share personal (and respectful) opinions or thoughts.

If it wasn’t the likes of Fox Dog or Calder Daddy biting peoples heads off I do wonder whether a mod might have got off their backsides and nipped this in the bud. Disappointing

I’ve seen people get lectured for far less than these 2 individuals
They can try and lecture me, but all I do is call out things I don’t believe.
There’s been no abuse, no malace and definitely no biting your head off.
You’re just as likely to get in trouble as I am for trolling.
It’s like a game of footy, I acknowledge the good and call out the bad.
Only issue with your posts is it’s Div 4 reserves in some bush league.
Please also don’t play the victim, I’ve seen you go harder at posters than I ever had at you.
You’ll be fine, I won’t ignore you.
Totally up to you what you do to me though.

I get information and that information has been proven correct over the past few years, but instead of posting on the board and having people like you laugh or just completely shut me down. I speak to a group of individuals who don’t leak these things I say.
Maybe you should start your own message group.
That can be your “safe space”

Look, I understand it getting brought up but it's now taking over the injury thread with a forensic investigation of his struggles and actions. Either it needs it's own dedicated Stengle thread or people can reveal what they want to on the rumour board.

That and this battle over who has real connections to the club or not...seem sort of irrelevant in a thread where we are trying to get updates on players undergoing rehabilitation for physical injuries.

Let's add bruised ego and self-inflicted wounds to the injury list.

With Stengle ... sigh. 2022 may be the only year. His health matters more.

Pity we can't list Wil White.

We cant now but we can mid season-we would just have to put miers stengle or Barker on the inactive list to do it.

If there is a tear, then surely the surgery is the best resolution IMO.

The tear can get worse and make a smaller issue a worse one I believe - depending on how it fails if and when it eventually does.

Im presuming that the smaller tear can go bang in a big way under load and make a bigger mess of an already scarred joint.
Vdubs is that a fair oberservation?

The Darcy situation has some similarities. Can’t readily recall where I heard it, but apparently, after the first knee issue, the Bullies Othopod, David Young, recommended a reco; not doing so could leave Darcy more prone to a recurrence in his view. The club got a second opinion from Julian Feeler, who was not as keen on surgery. The Bullies and Darcy chose the Feller option according to the report. Of course, the degree of injury may well differ markedly, but I for one hope Miers, and the club, take the long view.

Time to get back on topic yeah

For those who want to continue their off topic chat, please take it to a group PM as I'm pretty sure most here just want to move on with what's relevant

Surely only Caro to make the Stengle situation into this:

"why some clubs aren’t adhering to the rules, particularly Geelong ...” even when she seems to have no evidence that we aren't.

(edit: and she knows the Doggies don't have one at all ... so how is it "particularly Geelong") Seriously.

But it's sad ...

I believe this was essentially reaffirmed on SEN last night.

What rules are we not adhering to?

“Particularly Geelong”
Then mentions this quote

She said the Western Bulldogs lost their Indigenous liaison officer or PDM last December and still hadn’t found a replacement and Hawthorn recently lost theirs to the AFL.

What rules are we not adhering to?
I raise questions with Geelong today, as the AFL has over the past year, about the fact that every club has a mandated Indigenous liaison or PDM, Player Development Manager. They must work three days a week. Geelong has Brett Goodes, who they really like and rate. He’s one day a week.

“The AFL have asked the question in the past, why is Brett Goodes not working longer hours? Why don’t they have someone working more hours at the club? Geelong say that in Tyson Stengle’s case, that he’s a closer development with Mark Worthington, another PDM at the club.

“But I still ask the question, and this is a league-wide problem, why some clubs aren’t adhering to the rules, particularly Geelong ...”

Geelong insist that Stengle has a strong relationship with Worthington, and have also explained that Goodes, who is also a fireman, doesn’t want to work more than one day a week.

“So I accept that, but I do question why the AFL put these rules in and (and don’t enforce them),” Wilso said.

Pisses me off to no end that Stengle is reported to still be getting his full pension wage and decides to turn up when he feels like it.
I call bullshit that’s true tbh

Firstly, after his history
Secondly, we aren’t that dumb
Thirdly, Betts wife has no experience I doubt she would push for something of the nature

What rules are we not adhering to?
The AFL mandate that each club must have an Indigenous Player Development Manager; she says (but I can't verify) that they must work three days a week.

We have Brett Goodes, who Caro says is there once a week. It all gets messy, because the rules allow other staff to fufil elements of the role and Caro herself acknowledges that we also have Mark Worthington.

What we do know, and Caro openly stated in her comments, was that clubs like the Western Bulldogs don't even have one at all.

So where does she get off saying this on TV?
"But I still ask the question, and this is a league-wide problem, why some clubs aren’t adhering to the rules, particularly Geelong”

I mean, f off. I hate conspiracy theories, but the "Caro wants to bring down Geelong" theory I'll sign up to.

It actually looks like "up to three days a week" is what is required.

It is true that he would be getting paid the full wage. It was the same situation with jamarra. Clubs are on the hook in these scenarios.

Have we seen the last of Stengle...

Well technically his out with personal leave = injury.

Any idea what this "medical model" is? That article mentions it a few times but never explains what it is.

From the article:

Morris explained that the AFL was essentially not allowing Stengle, 27, to play football because of the league’s “medical model”.

“So Geelong are raising questions about (the AFL’s) medical model,” Wilson said.

Morris said once a player goes into the AFL’s medical model, it was then an AFL decision when he could return to play. “So there’s not much the club can do other than argue their case,” Morris said

It's the illicit drugs policy.

I'd wager the hang up is that the Independent Expert Panel have not signed off on his fitness to play, hence the club's frustration.

Reading between the lines, things have gone 'pear shaped' since then. Reading the tealeaves between the lines, the club thought he was ready, the panel said "not so fast", Tyson has wavered in some way ...

Wiltshire got to some good spots the other night, and if used would have kicked 3-4 goals. I think Cameron marked one right in front of him too, that looked to be going into Wiltshires mitts.

I would keep playing him, just get a feeling he going to kick a bag soon.

Look, all for supporting players, however he was ranked worst player on the ground for both sides combined, against a team we beat by 70 odd.

Ranked worse than 2 guys who couldn’t finish the game from injury.

Get it that our stocks are low, where we’ve got to play who we can that’s actually available, however, I highly doubt he’ll amount to anything.

Just doesn’t have the skill level. Happy to be wrong, however just don’t see anything.
