So it’s now pretty much impossible to get both Souki and Butters.
Why? Let's assume it takes 3 firsts to land Butters. It's up to the club to navigate a way to get the rest for El Souki.

If he is bid on at pick 15 and we can use two selections, it's around two mid-late second rounders.

If he keeps having 6 goal games, a bid at pick 15 is very optimistic.

We will get both

Live draft trading will be our biggest tool

Dogs will only bring in free agents this off season I reckon

Dale needs to move back to Melbourne like today. If that’s the case.

Haven’t heard much about him personally, what type of player is he?
He won’t come back. Always wanted to move to Qld

El Souki - Kid looks real deal from footage I have seen and still has puppy fat! Still will gets stronger and fitter but he knows how to find the ball and get front and square. Loves tackling and pressure acts... happy to use a pick on him!

For those old buggers here like me, reminds me of a specked up version of Sadi Ghazi

What nickname are we running with? Soukinator, Soukzilla, Nugget, Soukalicious, Soukie,
As long as it’s not Souki la la

This one will be difficult to top for performance of the season. Khaled El Souki was incredible from beginning to end, racking up stacks of the footy and damaging like few are capable of. He booted six goals of his own in a variety of ways, from clever snaps to tackle busting running goals, and directly set up his teammates for a number of other scoring opportunities. He was clean at ground level, applied strong tackling pressure, and nearly untacklable with his powerful frame and ability to weave and dodge in congested space. The most impressive part of this performance might have been the audacity to take the game on and try things that most wouldn't dare.

We will get El Souki somehow, you just don't let talent like that go.

I thought I heard it reported that the new matching rules will still have the ability to go into pick debt the following year if your next two picks are not enough to match. Would not be surprised to find list managers already working out the cheat code for the new system and essentially using this draft debt as an unofficial third pick to match bids. Especially for the next few years where TAS is going to dilute and stretch out the draft picks and we as a club are likely to trade away our first for next year (part of Butters deal) before draft night.

Wow, looks like the exactly the type of player we need on our list. Thanks for posting

Well if Zak does end up choosing Geelong, it will still suck, but at least we can pivot to targeting a mature KPD and position ourselves to land El Souki comfortably too.

OK, that's enough El Souki. Don't be so elite, you're ruining everything.
