Burn the tape and move on

Very underwhelming win, take it considering we weren't supposed to win more than 4 games according to the experts, but gee willickers was that a hard slog to watch.

Play that in Perth and we might have been in trouble. The way we conceded so many scores in patches with no way to break oppo momentum is a real concern

Bit of a snooze fest. Will take the win

We just seem to play at the level of the opposition no matter who they are, both down as well as up. Hopefully we can go up to the Hawks level and be competitive next week. But if you watched this match alone this year you'd say sure we got a win today but it wasn't overly impressive

Worst 5 goal win ever. Lazy campaigners who dont realise how our shit % might cost us a home final.
Ha ok thought it was just me. Thought we were crap. Lots of lazy kicks and crap decisions.

Probably don't need to say much as most have already said it. Went through the motions, got a win and we move on. Bit frustrating not to get a percentage booster. Overall not worried, we will lift our intensity next week against the Hawks.

Gawn seemed a monty for a 9th AA a couple of weeks back, respect him sharing the load or whatever but he's pissing away a record I'd love to see.

Good:
  • Langdon intercept king one of the best things about 2026, and still setting up scores too.
  • Tholstrup and Windsor getting more and more involved in everything each week.
  • Chandler future vice-captain.
  • Gawn and Heath combo synergy improving each week
  • Sparrow grabbing opprtunity with both hands
  • Lever putting a solid season together after a slow start
  • Petty's first quarter
  • Fristch playing higher up the ground
  • Bowey back, fit right in like a glove

Bad:
  • patches where we keep turning it over in transition and then eventually concede a few in succession
  • Steele's handballing, though he did set up three goals

Fugly:
  • Petty after quarter-time
  • Jefferson not able to make the most of some pretty clean air
  • How long it's going to take this midfield to be competitive week in week out and not get beaten up by shit teams that have more mongrel and size in the middle

One of our worst performances so far, not beating many teams playing like that. Hopefully step it up next week, was good to have Bowey back.

6-3. Take that for sure.

Disappointing game overall I guess but take the 4pts and move on.

Good

Bowey. Thought he was brilliant first game back.

Langdon. Thoight he was solid all game.

JVR hitting the scorebosrd.

Chandler/Sparrow continuing to contribute.

Bad

Clearances. Noticabke the midfield struggles if Koz is down.

32pt win feeling flat. Expectations have risen.

Ugly

Jefferson/Laurie. Enough ffs. Send these 2 back to Casey for good.

Koz. Could be his most ugly performance in a long time.

Pressure was decent early but once we got a lead up, we got lazy quickly.

Hard to find a positive other than giving King some ammo to shoot at non-performers while still getting 4 points.

Cross is crafty and has a knack for hitting the scoreboard.

JVR might get some confidence from his snags which is better than him being low on confidence I spose.

Love the look of Paddy Cross. Can kick a goal and loves to tackle. Going to be a player.
Yeah had some bright moments and took his chances for goal well.

Otherwise not a lot of excitement about the game. Bowey looked good coming back. Sparrow had a solid game. Langdon settling in well down back. Some good flashes from Chin, Windsor, Roo.

Felt kinda like a 2022-23 game; get an early lead but never lifted the intensity or really put the oppo to the sword. Pretty dull watch.
