Stop making up arguments that don't exist. I'm saying overrating our in 2010 wasn't the issue - we had no picks.
And where did our picks go?

I cant really be bothered going all the way back, but i recall saying something like lets how we and Bulldogs fair. From memory we'd both been up and our lists starting to become mid table quality. A smaller vic club like us, one i threw coin every Friday night in the pub during the tin rattling days.

2010 - Finished 9th (H&A)
Had picks 17, 27, 69, 71
2011 - Finished 9th
Had picks 10, 28, 46, 63, 77
2012 - Finished 8th
Had picks 15, 37, 41, 47, 56, 61
2013 - Finished 10th
Had 8*, 30, 47
*Lmac Matched pick

I could go on. These picks were after pre listing BTW where the incoming clubs got to pick the eyes out of the draft. We threw darts at the board knowing we needed players, but we didn't have the picks and the quality just wasn't there for us to improve the list. Picking desparately into the 70's isn't a team overrating its list - it's a team trying to find gemstones in the rubbish pile left to us.

Yeah I remember bard tooting his horn about using a first rounder each year.
Should of been wheeling and dealing to bring in talent

After pre listing you say, so planning shouldve started before then. Ok now im going to have to go back and dig when i get a chance as this will take time i dont have. Im pretty sure i got resistance back then too and said lets see compared to Bulldogs - time will tell and umm it did. No idea why id hang onto that thought all these years when it never happened - we'll see. Now i have to find out if im crazy or not.

I also said ditch Tassie and go all in on Ballarat when we started playing games there. Tassie was fools gold. Damn you Bulldogs.

Wheeling and dealing.... with what? The only assets we had of value were players that formed the basis of our team for the following decade.

I keep reading how he's going to be the saviour of our backline.

Didn't play VFL on the weekend. Did he get injured again?

I see zero harm with Josh slowly building via the VFL. It looks to be hope that's killing the supporter base re Goater. It seems many would feel more at ease with him delisted than working his way back.

If we delisted him, another club wouldn't be able to spit his name out quick enough. Tassie-mania with further water down the quality of the comp. Which imo isn't flash currently.

At seasons end, I suggest these guys could all go, some their decision and other not given a choice.

1. Scott- I think he will leave
2. Harvey- as above, unless something changes.
3. CCJ- Dawson just delivered the knockout blow
4.Hansen Jnr- Harvey is better
5. Fisher- feel we may pay him out
6. Corr- retire
7. Stevens- ??
8. BOABBanch- ??

if those eight leave at seasons end, who honestly thinks we will go backwards in 2027. The below is our current draft picks for season 2026.

Not sure which gun is slipping through to picks 43 onwards. The club removes emotion when making list decisions.
the basic premise is, has the player improved. Josh managed 3 VFL games in season 2025, has played 2 in 2026.

While the bar may well be low, I'm not sure how we benefit by delisting Josh.

My problem Dinkers is off the top.of my head Tarrant is the only one in recent memory who we have backed in and has come good.
Not sure if we are cursed or just s h i t managers of long term injuries, but the plethora or guys who have never come back is testament to something.
Starting to believe that the Goat may join that list. Will we ever see the best of George ? Archer ? Goater ?
HIstory tells us no sadly.

Comben would qualify

Yep R Tarrant 39 games in his first 5 years.
And you could well be right, but I suppose my point is, Josh isn't keeping a gun player off the list.

George- is quietly building games at VFL level. has managed 17 games across 25/26.
Archer- busted his leg, then did his knee, dunno.
Goater- as discussed, I think we are being ultra conservative, and rightly so. probably would want to get on the park for a six week stint sooner than later.
