Thanks Michael for being a largely humble, kind, and strong leader for your boyhood club in what have been pretty dark times in terms of the football operations, just wish you could have been a bit more adaptive in terms of how you used the list in response to its strengths and where the league was at.

All the best for what comes next.

Max Gawn said it how it is this morning.

More than half the season left, players are going to be playing for themselves and as a captain I would be worried because I would have no control over human nature of self preservation...

Don't worry about a game plan, get ready for individual highlights and low lights....

And a smart aspirant coach watching will see it with their eyes now. Players playing for themselves and not the team might be the difference between being on the list in 27 or not

I was listening to the man who loves his voice like no other in Gerard Whately this morning and in his sermon he said "I hope you are happy Carlton supporters, you have got what you wished for".
Couldn't believe this when I heard it. Trying to blame the fans for this decision. Gerard remains a sanctimonious weasel and he's not alone in the current media landscape

Rinse and repeat, this is media 101 since time began.

And if we kept him for the season and won a couple more games, we would have got from the same man, "Why did they keep him so long"
Would love someone to challenge him. Show footage of the times he and 'gaz' have said...it's inevitable, you can't keep losing etc and see what he has to say for himself.

Good ol' 'Gaz' who aint buying our after half time come back.
2 People I'd dearly love to sakc.
No. Three. I don't get Jay Clark as a TV presence at all.

I used to enjoy Gerard's commentary, but sadly a little fame has gone to his head & he is now just another headline grabbing media d*ckhead.

I get the feeling the media is pi**ed we didn't "officially" sack Vossy as they would have had more ammunition to fire at our club.

I just listened to Tom Morris & Whately commenting on Voss resignation

IDIOTS

It's NOT a wasted year
It is NOT like Coaches before
It is NOT just another sacking

Voss had 5 years and fulfilled a contract. We decided not to re contract him and he resigned. What are we supposed to do? Keep a Coach that we don't think is the future

We are in the middle of a clear plan that is so much more than the Coach. So many other things have been addressed. They didn't comment on any of it

This year will NOT be wasted. We will bring in a NEW Coach. We will keep developing and assessing List. We will have picks and SC room to drastically improve a list we have fully assessed.

Argue the plan or what Wright is doing, that is anyones right, BUT stop the crap this is old Carlton. That is simply WRONG
Whately was so annoying today.
It’s Carlton’s way.
What are we meant to do if the coach isn’t working out ?
He even said to Luke Hodge that Voss couldn’t coach !
But to say it’s the Carlton way when Voss quit is laughable.

Yep. They had stuff all ready and they were not going to waste it.
I have eggs and tomatoes ready to throw at the telly tonite.

He's nothing short of a Temu version of Bruce McAvaney.

Just proved to me they don't do research. No understanding of bigger picture or what is happening at the club. It was just micro focus on Coach with no perspective of anything else. TBH it was piss poor

Hasn't got over '95.

It was inevitable, so he we go again.

What a hypocrite, the media have been baying for blood for 12 months and when it finally happens they act all surprised and blame the supporters and act all surprised.

They will be moving on to Brad Scott next and when he gets the sack they will be blaming the essendon supporters.
That whiny nasal voice and the way he pontificates on all aspects of the game is so annoying.
I no longer tune into AFL 360 because of the current hosts and your point is well made...hypocrisy of the highest order...the media has been baying for blood for months.

I sent a text in to the station calling those in the media hypocrites for calling for his head, then shifting blame on to Carlton Supporters and prefaced the text that I bet they don't read it out and surprise surprise..........it wasn't read out.

Thanks Vossy - it was a wild ride. Will never forget the 23 semi final - it was the last match I ever saw with my old man before he passed away a few months later, a golden lifelong memory.

I'd still love to know WTF happened at 1/4 time up at GWS that Saturday night in 2024.

Hopefully we can blood some youth the rest of the year and just let them play footy, see what happens.

Go Blues

Also shown to have great success with the VFL team this year after being away from the club (Top 4, 4-2 record).

Perfect guy to be the interim Coach.

Damian Truslove is the VFL coach.

I feel like we're closer to Sam Mitchell taking over from Clarkson than Ratten from Richardson. We've been rebuilding for more or less two-three off seasons, and our list management last year was entirely constructed around next off season. I'd argue an element of our gameday this season has been crafted to see if we can manufacture a pick before we take Walker.

We're still short in a few places, and Mitchell deliberately tanked his side for a season or two before they could really put it together onfield. We're not so far behind, methinks.
Mitchell didn't tank; they just had to rebuild because they were getting old. Clarkson did him no favours
