I sort of associate St Kilda in the 2009-2010 period with The Ultimate Warrior.
Burst onto the scene almost from nowhere. Made a huge splash, got all the publicity, were The Main Attraction for a short time, but never quite made it stick.
Then disappeared suddenly and now everyone thinks...
They're actors putting on a show, and like actors it has little to do with how good they are - it's how well they connect with the paying customer. In this case paying customer means PPV, TV Ratings and Merchandise.
Every smark hates John Cena - but he makes money for his employer.
Every...
Koko B Ware.
Maybe Kofi.
I think Mario Milano had a few brief turns as heel - but they tended to be set-ups where he would then double-cross his evil partner (but because the partner was evil, Mario was good etc. I'm so confused!). There was also a bit of a running gag that his mama brought...
I've been in and out all my life. Started watching on B&W 'World Championship Wrestling' on Channel 9 with Jack Little and Ted Whitten. When I was smart and worked out it was fake (ie about 11), I was naturally too cool to watch anymore.
I dip in and out - I don't have Foxtel, so it's hard to...
6/10.
The Undertaker/Lesnar match was extremely poor. Taker looked like he barely belonged out there - slow, weak, looked old, multiple botches - to be honest the ending saved it. And no one liked the ending.
Cena/Wyatt - had promise, but a poor storyline. Some good action, but let down by...
Give them credit - after Triple HHH interference (pathetic) - the match picked up when Batista and Orton ganged up on Bryan.
I've seen worse Champ matches.............................
Gee whiz - it's like they put up a sign saying 'Batista and Orton do their thing - get your popcorn and beer now. We'll let you know when Bryan is back on'.
If Bryan loses to these non-entities - well, why not? WWE always love screwing with the smarks.
Seriously - I reckon my son and his mates had better wrestling moves on the trampoline when they were 10 years old than these Divas.......................
Ok. My first thought was - 'Next WrestleMania - Taker vs Lesnar'.
But looking at the Undertaker - he's finished. He lost a heap of condition, no muscle mass, looked like a skinny old man.
I guess he said the the Management - 'I'm done - finish me off'. In wrestling, always go out on your back.
I reckon both of Taker's 'Hells Gate's' could wind up on the next Botchamania collection - I could have got out of them.
Still have to have Taker's patent 'sit-up' move...................
Oh crap.
Look, I know wrestling's predictable, and the storylines are about Grade 4 level - but seriously? That was the best they could come up with? Cena 'Battles his inner demons - and wins'.
At least if you have Cena win - you could have made it a bit controversial. But I guess those...
First started back in the 60s-70s with Jack Little and Ted Whitten. Always was a bit of a fan, but far preferred the storylines (double crosses!!) to the actual wrestling. I remember Larry O'Dea, Spiros Arion, Big Chief Little Wolf (I think:confused:), and the visiting americans who were nearly...
In Foley's book he talks about the time a wrestler was doing the 'victory' pose when he got hit from behind. He sold it big time and went down as if poleaxed - it was just after he hit the floor that everyone realized it was a packet of popcorn thrown from the crowd. Oooops....
I honestly don't know when they will end Taker's streak. As long as he can front up to WM and put up a decent show, it makes no sense for WWE to end the streak. Sure, he's going to need good workers to go with (like Punk and HHH), but the streak has become one of WWE's strongest identifiers...
Pretty much. If you want to watch wrestling, watch the Olympics. Pro Wrestling is live-action cartoons - with cartoon characters and cartoon level violence. It's Bugs Bunny hitting Yosemite Sam with a shovel. Bugs Bunny might be a brilliant martial arts champion - but I want to see him hit...
I hope not - I think Show's best role is as The Jolly Giant - as stated, the kids all love him, he plays whatever role the WWE want him to do and I think he's generally worth his spot.
I quite liked his post-wrestlemania stuff, where he was just laughing at Cody Rhodes (and Rhodes played up...
