great listen, very insightful.. particularly loved bond's anser to a possible motlop trade... flat out NO! :thumbsu::)

So somne points in summary...

No Fev, no Motlop at Freo next year (close those threads I reckno :) )
Griffin isn't a dead cert to be traded and club would like to keep him.
More about Pav not in the midfield.
Definite interest in Clark.
Sounds likely we'll move our first rounder if we can land someone we want.
Sounds like we'll be happy with Band 3 compo for Palmer.

Great link mate. Good news allround there. A big FU to Motlop is fantastic. Sounds like we really want Clark though, and if Griffen does go we may get overs because he is contracted.

Thanks Tfs, awesome work. I wonder who gets their way out of Bond and Harvey in list management issues, hopefully Bond.

Just as a recap those 14 too many picks in 2008 were:

National
Hill
Ballantyne
Suban
Clarke
Walters
Bucovaz
Ruffles
Hall

Rookie
Sibo
De Boer
Shepheard
Pearce
Van Berlo
Broughton

Looks like those last 3 picks in the NAB draft were speculative picks. There would have been plenty of other options that could've been better but meh..

I've recently wondered how Hall's footy is going back in SA, if he's even playing footy now.

I saw him on the WAFL half time show on ABC last week playing for some SANFL team. Kicked 4 goals and was talked up as the matchwinner. Boy can play.

Hall, Ruffles, Bucoo and Walters can all play. IMHO it is a glaring indictment of the failings of Harvey as a so-called senior coach that none of these guys have come on and developed under recent years.

Also note the delisting of Houghton, and the poor use of Pav, Bradley, Griff, Palmer, Lower and JA this year - more examples of Harvey's selection and gameday coaching failings.

No doubt he can motivate some core players, and has some toughness in his approach to the list, but his game day tactics and his ability to get the best out of fringe players are both truly poor.

Get us some Chris Scott/Paul Roos coaching talent please!!

nothing much harves could do about ruffles' knees. hall had the frame of a 12 year old girl and got homesick. bucovaz, im not sure about him, i liked him and thought he was worth another year. and walters is purely poor attitude, hence the reason he has yet to be offered a contract

harvey was hamstrung a little by injuries as well this year. but there are definetly areas that harvey needs to improve on. reserve judgement untill mid next year

With Clark in the side next year he'll probably continue to play Pav in the middle, until he realises Clark can go into the middle too, then both will be played in the middle and we'll be looking for another Forward.

Surprised he hasn't tried Luke McPharlin as a tagging midfielder yet

That's his grand plan isn't it, Clarke, Clark and Pav all playing in the middle with Sandi in the ruck - tallest midfield ever!! :p

plus they can be very dangerous when they push forward.

Only problem is though we wont win the ball enough in midfield to get it down there and we will have 30 goals kicked against us each week due to no ball winning ability and no defensive pressure.

But hey the plan will work 1 in every 10 times so its pure genius.
