Oh you. Wishful thinking we've still got Hansen and Nahas did play fairly well. Interestingly Brad called stumps on Majak's game ten minutes into the last. I hope you're right. He drops so many marks at AFL level that he eats in the VFL. Wonder why?

Loved that Northern wouldn't kick the ball to which ever side of the ground Majak was on and Werribee looked for Majak at every available opportunity. This guy will be very good for us or someone else. Not sure what would happen if he left and McKenzie got in his way, could be Emelia Earhart all over again as in doubt they'd find the body.

He has to play now due to waites injury

Time for Majak to get some continuity in his game and see whether he can finally step it up in the afl. If he is to be on our list this is his chance against the big boys (Sydney etc). He must be told that he needs to go out to every game with a "search and destroy" mentality otherwise he looks extremely disinterested which frustrates me

One thing he does do is act a extra strong midfielder and makes us seem very unpredictable in our clearance work. Also gives Goldy a good break in games before finals (I still don't think he is fully fit yet)

Interesting that Maj said he worked with Durds and McKay to develop a system in the forwardline and he felt that worked for them.

My take, he was considered a sub for the time he went forward with us and he didn't really felt he belonged. Hence the fact he stands there looking in the AFL while proactive in the VFL.

Was kicking well this morning during goal kicking practice. I'm pretty sure I saw his brother Anthony wander out with a swag of North gear on too, as an aside.

I think he just needs a license to hunt the ball between half back and half forward. His trying to hard to stick to brads defensive structures and often wastes time trying to be in the right place rather than learning to read the actual play. The amount of times i see our players run past the opposition player running with the ball so they can follow there own man is ridiculous. This is most noticeable when were losing and players become self preserving rather than helping each other out. Maj in the 2's has no worries about being dropped or being out of position and his onfield confidence is stark in contrast.

OUT-OF-CONTRACT North Melbourne tall Majak Daw wants to stay at Arden Street despite limited senior opportunities and growing interest from rival clubs.

Daw's manager, Shane Casley of TLA-ESP, told AFL.com.au contract talks with North had yet to begin in earnest, but said his client had no interest in talking to opposition clubs at the moment.

"Majak is happy at North Melbourne and wants to stay there. At the appropriate time we'll sit down with North and work through things," Casley said.

The ruckman/forward has again found senior games hard to come by this season despite strong form in the VFL.

With Todd Goldstein continuing to shoulder the bulk of the Roos' ruck duties, and Drew Petrie, Jarrad Waite and Ben Brown North's preferred tall trio in attack, Daw has played just four senior matches – none of them consecutively – in 2016.

But the 25-year-old continues to look more and more assured when given the chance at AFL level, something that has not gone unnoticed by rival clubs. His ability to combine ruck and forward-line duties is also likely to be in demand this trade period.

Asked about the extent of external interest in Daw, Casley said simply: "We're not pursuing it, we're not seeking it."

North faces some tough list management decisions on its attack at the end of this season.

Petrie and Waite, both 33, have publicly indicated they want to play on, but with fellow forwards Brown, 23, and Mason Wood, 22, likely senior regulars next season the Roos could decide at least one of the veterans needs to move on to create opportunities for Daw.

North coach Brad Scott has several times this year stated the Roos' desire to keep Daw beyond 2016, saying he has a bright future at the club.

"There will be speculation throughout the year, but we've got a lot of faith in Majak," Scott said in June.

"You don't have to look too deeply at our forwards, particularly their age, to see that there's going to be great opportunity here at North Melbourne for a long time."

Daw has played 20 senior games since debuting in 2013, but has a golden chance to cement himself in North's team ahead of this year's finals with Waite (hip) not expected to return before the end of the home and away season.

Daw shapes as Waite's logical replacement and seemed to rubberstamp his recall with a four-goal game for Werribee last Sunday.

Even if you turn out to be 100% correct, I still fail to see any mileage to be gotten from your post. It's as mean spirited as as they come, quite frankly. However, if it makes you feel good, who am I to deny you?

I would have agreed with you last year, but he has come a long way this season. I've got a feeling he's gonna make it. In a big way.

even you can see, it is more important then anything else, that he is correct.

Really hope that with some certainty about Waite being out for a few weeks, Daw and the coaches can settle on and settle into a strong role for Majak. If he gets to feeling as comfortable and confident at AFL level as he did in the VFL last week, look out - and he would be very very hard to drop even after Waite recovers.

I think Majak is much more versatile in that he can play the ruck and ruck rover position quite well in AFL. This is probably what the coaches see as well, hence the comment that they want to pursue on him.

Agree 100%, no other player at North has greater expectation to become the GOAT and it is ridiculously unfair.
