I think what Thy is trying to put across in his typically delicate manner, is that passing definitive judgement on people's intelligence, based on a situation many people dread (public speaking), on a sample size of one, is perhaps a little premature. He stumbled through most of the questions in reality.
Not sure how stating he’s not a smart dude is arrogant whatsoever. There’s plenty of guys in the AFL with low IQ’s and in many cases this is actually far more beneficial for playing professional sports.
Doesn’t curb his football ability in the slightest.
just said thatI think what Thy is trying to put across in his typically delicate manner, is that definitive judgements on people's intelligence, based on a situation many people dread (public speaking), on a sample size of one, are perhaps a little premature.
Particularly when given by men and women who dedicate much of their time watching other men and women run around in matching uniforms, in the hope they can kick an irregularly shaped piece of leather with greater frequency and accuracy than the opposition...in an internet forum...during the offseason.
I'd agree with him incidentally.
Met Mitch on Friday. Seemed a warm, young guy with a friendly disposition

Meh...some of the smartest people I know completely wilt in social situations. I used to keep a bottle of Glenlivet in my office specifically for public speaking occasions, else I'd be paralysed with fear.I’ve seen McGovern operate in a number of interviews, and he strikes me as a bit of a slow dude.
No idea why some get triggered by that notion?
Contrast him with Lachie Neale, who answered similar questions about moving to Brisbane, and you’ll get a fuller picture.
Stick a Rankine in amongst all of that...I'd pay to see it.Like it when said he talks up Charlie & H as great chf types, so he can snaffle the ff position.
Noice.

In fact I already have.
I splattered dacks once.Great thing about McG is he doesn’t need pin point delivery, has an amazing ability to
impose himself in pack contests.
He splatters packs.
place in footscray is awesome.........I splattered dacks once.
Let's go to the new Ethiopian place she says...be good to try something different.

People are triggered as your observation is assumptive, unecessary and lacks judgement. Let's move on.
I’ve seen and from friends I know who have played with him in WA he’s no Rhodes scholar.
Some just love taking the moral high ground on complete non-issues.
Others like to denigrate unecessarily
The guy who ate a raw onion in front of a media scrum was a Rhodes scholar. Just sayin'.
Why bother caring about his intellectual ability, though?
Just kick goals pls and be happy doing it.
I strongly doubt McGovern is going to be affected by what someone on the internet thinks about his intellectual capacity. If he does we’ve got bigger issues than we think.
You might equate his inability to articulate himself well with a level of social anxiety, and I don’t doubt it’s a contributing factor, but from interviews I’ve seen and from friends I know who have played with him in WA he’s no Rhodes scholar.

so if it doesn't matter, why judge him on his intellect?Bingo
And who cares either way?
There’s enough over sensitivity to menial things like a footballers IQ. That comment has literally zero impact on anybody except the snowflake who gets offended on somebody they don’t know’s behalf.
Bingo

nup - stupid - either stupid folks or the wrong type of education - la idiot.........Mitch just came across nervous for mine.
