Won't matter. Simpkin and Sheringham will now be delisted. If anyone else is promoted to senior list it will be Walker but I think that is also unlikely too.

May lose either of them, but our list is rather tight for spots at the moment.

Well done to Stringer, has done it pretty tough with injuries prior to this season, really deserves it after hanging in there for 3 years. Could be a big improver next year.

Here's hoping, with the club's confidence in him, that he can sort out his off-field stuff OK without needing to be a fireman (unless the kid really wants to be a fireman, naturally).

That the VFL B&F leaves us is another omen type thing it has happened quite a few times over the past few years

Simpkin has been a Rookie for 2 years and can stay on 1 more year but another Rookie [doesn't include Bathie or Blicavs] has to be either promoted or delisted as we can only have 4 A Grade Rookies instead of the 6 we had this year.the club are probably waiting to see what happens with Caddy before deciding who to promote or bone.

Well done Jesse, was looking more comfortable by the week at senior level before it went pear-shaped. Huge pre-season, reward the faith and straight into the guts rd1

On a more cynical note, and not that I want it to happen, but does he go straight onto the list which gives him security, and gives Geelong greater leverage if his name bobs up in talks over the next fortnight? Just curious..

I think we'll see another upgrade. 1 of Walker or Burbury.

Can we keep Walker in the VFL team for 1 more year? Will be a good replacement for Pods in the next 1-2 years.

At the moment we have enough tall forwards, so Burburry would make a good player for us. Can move into midfield also if required. Most impressive player in the VFL side imo.

I think this makes Stringer a listed and contracted player.

Stringer at 21 has a lot of upside.

Think Hogan and Djerrkura. I really wanted those boys to kick on but in the end they had too many deficiencies.

Already Stringer is well ahead and will be a valuable addition - congrats.

Yeah I would say he has been chosen over Simpkin due to age maybe? Will be interesting to see who else gets listed.

Simpkin shouldn't have trouble finding another team?
He has a great record and still many years to offer at AFL level.

Very disappointed to see JS elevated, in fact. I think it leaves a bad taste. Note the hushed applause at VFL presentation – I doubt all fans will be happy. We know clubs are good at solving ‘off-field indiscretions’ but I like the Cats’ rep for genuine concern about community problems. I believe that it was JS himself who came forward, so it was only ever a question of what would happen next. We would at least have liked an official update. The Cats will work it on two levels at once: 1. ultra keen to keep the good player 2. theme of care for the lost sheep = better kept an eye on here, where senior Cats have demonstrated social priorities... Not sure the two tunes can be sung in harmony, but that will be the approach. Even after all the joy, feeling let down.
