not convinced he's best 18 or best 23 or even best 25. short, banks, trainor, smilie, sonzie, ross and even broad would be in my mix as our best wingers for 2026 Hugo amongst those as well but he aint walk up start
I get the projected 2026 idea, but Smillie, who will never be a wingman, especially in his first year. Trainor, who is a backman and a Broad replacement was average as a wing last year. Banks, who has half back sown up. Sonzie? Last place on the list so not exactly a pencilled in name. Short, wouldn't mind to see how he goes on the other wing. Same with Broad, but given they have never played there, it's a stretch to say they are better than Hugo.

If Hugo doesn't improve then he will struggle to hold his spot, but he was one of the few that improved in 2024 and was going pretty well in '25 before injury.

Short no chance
Sonsie ?? Really
Smillie is a mid and not an elite runner
Trainor i think is a back and will be played there
Banks & Ross i can see but Banks surely has proven his HB game will be good and would stay there

Ralphsmith is clearly Richmonds #1 starting mid and if fit plays every game

we'll see.... dont forget four points is not as valuable as it will be in 2027 so I got a fair idea Adem will still be experimenting and juggling a few things around. now there's five on the bench there is a perfect opportunity to play 3 wingers at 70% game time each. two can run their arses off while they're on the ground and the other can have a rest on the pine and rinse and repeat. I see smiley being a semi permanent fixture there where he will have plenty of galloping room with a better tank in 2027.

Which also makes Ralphsmith being in the team even more likely

Then i would ask you who in your opinion is a more likely number 1 lock in
we have balta Miller and vlossy down back as experienced locks. broad would be my automatic lock with banks and short also given plenty of freedom in new wing spots to show more attacking flair balanced with defence. would send mansell back to defence if his form is good enough for speciial assignments.

That is a reach nominating our oldest defender to take over the running wing position for his last year

futile argument.... Matthew Richardson nearly won a Brownlow and Isaac Smith won Normie both were around 34...broad has all the tools to make an excellent winger,
broad would run himself into the ground for us knowing that it could be his last year

Isaac Smith the best Wingman of our time and Matt Richo an aerobic beast that would have been an AA in any position he played. Not your best comparison to an ageing 33 year old 3rd tall defender

whatever you reckon but I will declare if we have our best side on the park, everyone fit and I'm including smiley, lalor, hotton, gibcus, ross and campbell as automatic selections and one spot left and its wing, who can help in defence. im picking broad over hugo every time. 3 or 4 injured mediums and room for both

You know that will never happen and pointless arguing about that

But a better measure would be if fit and not injured i would say Ralphsmith plays 90%+ games

Richmond list 2029 v Richmond list 2026
Very very different level of talent and experience back then mate

Ralphsmith is starting 23 every day of the week in the Richmond side
haha, why are you stating your opinion as fact? :p
I rate Hugo between 24 and 27 on the magnetic board of players being picked if everyone fit. you have him higher, and fair enuff. time will tell

So my opinion of richmonds list of 2019 compared to 2026 was not stronger ?

Your rating of ralphsmith being 24-27 is extremely funny '
specially when you consider that we will have atleast 4-8 injured players at any given time

My god we already have Clarke pretty much out for the season and prestia most likely only playing 12 games if he remains fit.

Your struggling to make your case TT

you're starting to bug me with your arrogance, don't forget if we have four or eight players out injured at any given time Hugo is possibly gonna be one of them an if he's not he gets a spot on the bench or as a starting wing.

LOl oh sorry to bug you i hope you will get over that

But Ralphsmith is 100% best 23 for the next 2 years and nothing you said has convinced me otherwise
but keep thinking maybe you will come up with something
