He is just another Duursma , Seen all the traits of his older brother and is a ball hog constantly wanting the 1-2
very cheap possessions that dont hurt
It’s eerie how much they seem to be tracking like the Morton’s.

Even down to the unjustified tickets they seem to have on themselve
Joel Selwood was just another Selwood too
More Morton’s thanks Selwood.

CDTs numbers will be well below his coates games because they ran 4 rucks through the game and i think a 5th got a run late, also wasn't resting up fwd most of the times when the academy had ascendancy

definitely got outmatched in height by colina and ohb, although still managed a couple of decent taps, hopefully coburg ruck isn't a giant lmao
Hence why we shouldn't take a junior Ruck in the top 10.
.

Picking off that one game you’re picking Greeves and probably not thrilled.

Actually to be fair I probably underrated Hetherton and Ludowyke as KPF cos I was more focused on mids, but both took some good grabs and kicked goals.

Might be worth giving up our picks for Reid if things don't improve from those non academy kids.

Fingers crossed there’s talent outside of the academy that will jump onto our radar as the year progresses.
I’m not sure how many of our picks from last year were academy players? But one thing for certain there’s always late developers in this age group

Agree.
Too early too call either way.
Look at last year.
Smillie was #1 this time of the year and slid too 7.

The academy is definitely not be-all and end-all. I think we’ll get a much better perspective at the Nationals.
I did have a look at last year’s academy and we actually had 4 players listed
Lalor, Smillie, Trainor and Faull.
Hotton definitely came onto everyone’s radar at the start of the u18 season
Armstrong injured,
Sims not really on the radar.

Did Sharp look like he was trying? Saw a few SA comments saying he was basically walking around half assed.
I had one eye on the game on my laptop and the other eye on our AFL game , but he certainly didn’t have a big impact in contested ball. Maybe someone else can provide a better analysis of how much midfield time he played.
It was very hot, a lot of the players looked fatigued.
The players that caught my eye were
LeRay , Barker and Onley in the 2nd half.
I’m sure plenty will disagree but I think Onley looks to have more tools than Greeves as a big bodied mid.

Just found this wrap of the game ( no stats)

I think I may have been getting LeRay and Barker mixed up at times, they look similar.

Onley gets a mention for meters gained and run/ carry

Not with Hopper and Taranto running around
I reckon Hopper and Taranto would look a lot better if surrounded with some outside class, pace and spread to work alongside. Hopefully by mid season we have Smillie and KMac2 in there, and Taranto can spend some minutes up forward rotating with Lalor. I suspect (hope!) it'll play better to the strengths of those two, and our midfield balance will just look a lot better ovarall... 🤞
