There was a piece of play where he was under a little bit of pressure, and he picked the ball up - which wasn't spinning nicely - as cleanly as you like. Just a small thing, but beautiful to watch.

I like the fact he can now defend. Said last year I had no issues with Truck asking him to defend. He is now a more finished product.

If a Zen Buddhist played football, he would play football like Jordan Ridley.

You'd think if someone does a '2016 draft revisited' he'd be top 3-5.
Pretty good draft. Stewart, Bolton, McCluggage my top 3 with Ridley and Berry probably the next two.

Cracker draft for us, the benefit of coming last is not just pick 1, it’s pick 1 in round 2, 3, rookie draft etc.

I may have rose coloured glasses on but Begley makes it as well if he doesn’t do his knee and lose his mobility and you only have to look at Setterfield to see that Clarke would have had some utility in the middle of given a decent run.

Clarke was given a decent run, his kicking made it untenable for him to play midfield at AFL level.

Not that I saw him a lot in his prime but (one for the older posters here) I think there is a bit of Bruce Doull about Ridley…..and from what I hear, you pretty much can’t offer higher praise to a mid-sided defender.

Both able to play tall or short and move with that hyper-balanced, cat like elegance. Super clean beneath their knees, super composed….never flustered. Great decision makers.

They reckon Doull could/would regularly target teammates with his defensive punches…..that’s playing chess when everyone else is playing checkers.

Concussed
When Hipwood elbowed him in the head a couple of years back took him quite a while to recover his confidence. Hopefully a speedy recovery, is like having a Sir Jim in the backline with his class and competitiveness.
