Can't play TT and Hopper in the same midfield set up full time. It's become evident the game has moved to a spread from contest. Both lack leg speed to be a modern midfielder.

I agree get him in the forward line, take Bauer out and bring in McCauliffe to rotate through the guts.

Taranto should be a midfield rotation only, he needs to play HFF as main position for me.
Hopper can stay as the more senior inside mid player.

but Yze won't do it. too stubborn or he doesn't have brains that a Kingsley or someone would have.

All the campaigners here demanding Taranto be traded is doing my head in. Once Prestia goes at the end of the season and MacIntosh follows suit, this will subsequently leave Taranto as the senior midfielder at the club. Do you guys really want a midfield mix of: Hopper, Ross, Dow, McAuliffe until the draftees develop? I'd much prefer Taranto to continue to play in the guts than someone like Dow or Ross who are outside players who should play second fiddle at the most. To accomplish a rebuild, the club needs experienced leaders like Taranto to guide the development of the cubs. Last week was a poor showing (most of the team had a game to forget), yet Taranto will be a fixture of the club for years to come, putting in the hard yards to ensure the draftees can shine.

All well and good if he is the experienced head in the midfield who is able and does apply midfield pressure to allow the young players to use their youthful flare . Fact is it’s the complete opposite and as such will in fact negatively impact the growth of the youth .

He shouldn't be traded, he just should be moved out the midfield as his main position.
You can afford to have Hopper 1 of them in there most of the time but not both.

We need to develop the next stars in there and they are getting no midfield time.
We already getting smashed with experience in there already so they basically wasting midfield time.
We need kids to play on good players & learn.

If he’s carrying a niggle don’t play him and play sonsie or km2 as mids.

yeah, and last year we only won 2 games with those ^ players so it just proves that the team was still not good. and our midfield is still awful.

Agreed but it’s a lot easier to fix a midfield than spine. I rate the list strategy going spine first

His clearances were hack helicopter kicks and nearly all went to the oppo. He is not a one touch player. He is simply a liability but unfortunately we need him for the moment.
I long for the day I don’t have to watch him in our midfield.
This trade has turned out to be a blunder but at the time it looked great.
