Aside from the hack kick off the right to end the half, that was his best half of footy in his career

Tend to get the sense with him that he's, at any given time, a couple of dodgy moments away from crawling into a box and adopting the foetal positionDead set played like Andrew McLeod for a half. Then disappeared.

I think you're both very much on the money. If you could hypnotise him into confidence, he'd be a gun
Keays did that as well today, and even LDU goes missing.Dead set played like Andrew McLeod for a half. Then disappeared.
He is young enough to improve. Once he feels more confident to back his pace and put his head down and run through contested situations, he will go up a level.I think you're both very much on the money.
In one sense, Stephens would be a really easy bloke to coach, because you've only got to convince him that he's a player to get some worthwhile improvements. At times he looks positively surprised he's on the field, and yet his skills are well above average.
A bit more self-believe and we'd have a player

Yep. Frustrating, but a decent enough squad player longer term that can be called on when needed.Mixes the good and and the bad, has a spot until someone better comes along.
Agree, it takes probably 2 or 3 pre-seasons to build the required tank to play on a wing at AFL level.Yep. Frustrating, but a decent enough squad player longer term that can be called on when needed.
Any kid we draft the next few years is going to need time to develop and be ready to take over.
Useful depth is so bullshit. Another pre season under his belt, and if he takes the same progression leap next year he would be in our first handful of players picked each weekAgree, it takes probably 2 or 3 pre-seasons to build the required tank to play on a wing at AFL level.
Disco will hold his wing for another couple of years at least, then be useful depth.
