Reckon he was a bit less impactful than he usually is but kicking a goal as a winger can't complain. Ultra reliable.

Runs his ass off all game and has pretty strong disposal quality too.

Whilst he didn't have his absolute best games ever, his level of improvement from last season has been so impressive.

Has really made that wing his and if he can keep this level of improvement up we've got ourselves a quality footballer.

He looks noticeably bigger which I reckon has translated into far less squibbing of contests. Honestly one of the better wingers in the comp so far this year.

The gap between his best and worst is getting smaller, becoming a very reliable and consistent footballer.

Really important release player. Makes a lot of space to create an option - something the North team has lacked for several years. An outside player for sure but we need that.

he still meows occasionally, but it's almost funny now. My old man gives me this look when it happens exactly like he used to give me when I told him I'd be home at 1am when I was 17.

Imagine this rank impostor becomes more than serviceable, even good? It has to right up there with Sleepy Al's greatest hits. Like ****ing hell.

I think he's serviceable now at the very least. He's a reliable, hard running, pretty decent kicking wingman. As all wingmen are, he's prone to a bit of cowardice every so often, but they're becoming less and less frequent

Now he seems to hit the next contest hard like he has something to prove to himself. Has grown immensely.

I actually once had an argument with a casual footy fan about this exact topic. He said all wingmen are soft and I said what about Steele Sidebottom and his reply was “he’s not a winger he’s a tough nut inside mid.” And that’s when I realised I was dealing with someone who didn’t know what they were talking about.

Stephens is weirdly becoming one of my favourite players. He seems to be the fittest, hardest running player on the team. He’s always suddenly in space when we spread. He’s not Colby quick but he’s fast enough for his position and he has a beautiful left foot.

Remember the days of Sam Gibson on the wing?

He was a decent player, good accumulator, hard running and got to space just like Stephens does.

The difference is that Gibson was an average at best kick — sometimes he’d absolutely hack it.

The premiership teams always have elite kicks in their team.

It’s a dream for us that the Stephens acquisition is working out well.

Bailey Scott won’t play another game for the club I reckon.

Stephens also seems to be connecting well with Blamires, which is great to see.

One game ago he cost us a goal getting "outhussled" in d50 by that dude who this week ran around chasing shadows. Today he lost, not halved, lost at least one.... arrg nevermind. Parker wasn't too pleased when this guy didnt create a contest on the end of one of d50 exit kicks. Not a great kick tbf. My favourite position in netball is WA, wish him well he stuck a couple tough tackles today.

Watched the replay. His contest work is much improved. Laid a few bumps and looks so comfortable at the level. Loved that rundown tackle.
