Good to see we learnt from LDU's debut win and club song performance. No more "North Melbourne is the team that plays to win for you and me... OI" for our debutants.

We need to encourage them to sing "North melbourne will be premiers in 201_" (ie twenty-eighteen, twenty-ninteen etc etc) again like in the 90s. It had a certain something...

It reinforces the intent and commitment needed to win the flag and creates a mindset where they expect to win it ... and everyone who's heard of Korzybski knows words create structure help build reality.

Exactly. Imagine the confidence boost Ahern feels being included in post game celebrations with the firsts after wallowing in the footy wilderness for two years. All a part of his integration into the elite group, showing him the club backs him as playing a big role in our future to the hilt, and hopefully inspiring him to greater heights.
