I dunno think he still needs to show a little more at vfl levelExpect him to make his debut this week
It’s most likely the WC or North game. We need to see more VFL games first. See what happens.Expect him to make his debut this week

yeah I haveHave you watched him play? He's a good kick of the footy. Seems like you've put a whole bunch of words together and said nothing.

Think he will be named in the extended squad tonight but cut tomorrow night when the playing side is announced
More so around the idea of him playing as a KPP. Basing it on his height? I understand the idea of adding strings to his bow, but as development, his focus should be on his midfield craft, especially building up his running.I am actually talking Smillie up, if you think I am insulting him you must be poor at ratings and one of those that think the Brownlow is the most important individual medal of the year
KPP are more important than midfielders so by labelling Smillie a midfielder you are insulting him.More so around the idea of him playing as a KPP. Basing it on his height? Or are you keen on a Sonsie 2.0?

I think Smillie is a unicorn. He could be many things. He may not be a KPP, but he may be, I am not putting limits on him.
The point is Smillie has played in his youth as a bigger kid and done this and that. Size would have played a role. Now he is in the professional version where players are a lot better and more competitive where size alone would not be enough of itself.
I am not saying Smillie's pre-draft form is a write off but I am saying he may have to really explore what is best for him, especially at the higher levels to help figure out what is best for him. The bottom line is, for me, what worked in the youth levels, may not apply effectively at the senior levels, but Smillie has skill and a unique set of traits which may be effective if utilised in the best way for him and the team he plays with. So for me it is not a simply as throwing him in clearance, the senior level is more sophisticated and advanced than that where bigger bodies with more seasoned experience and advanced skill sets are already in there competing, It would be advisable for Smillie to develop and hone in his approach and skill set before prematurely throwing into the wolves before he has fully revered from set-backs and what not.
Michael Tuck played 50 reserves games, developing more and building up in the reserves early on is not a insult
In position less football the separation between KPP and midfielders for some in terms of roles can be rather frivolous, and it is not like Smillie is a midget where he has no KPP scope whatsoever
And Mayo?! is there Mayo?!yeah I have
When did I say he was not a good kick??
reads like word lettuce from you....
Why are we talking about trying to develop Smillie into anything other than a midfielder? We've got Faull, Armstrong, Lefau, Fawcett, Sims and Bauer to work on as tall forwards. But we don't have any Cripps/Tom Green/Bont type mids ...and Prestia is soon retiring, Hopper and TT are 28+, Dow & McCauliffe are still question marks, Sonsie doesn't look like making it, Hotton is returning from an ACL and Macca sure isn't the answer.KPP are more important than midfielders so by labelling Smillie a midfielder you are insulting him.

Are you Big Smi's mother ?If Big Smil has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Big Smil has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Big Smil has only one fan then that is me. If Big Smil has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Big Smil, then I am against the world.
That is a deep dark hole i occasionally go down from time to time alsoBecause you’re replying to Mr Magic and therefore nothing discussed will have a basis in reality.

Sure, if Smillie fails as a midfielder over the next 2-3 x years let's look at other roles he may be able to fill. And sure, happy for him to be able to rest at half forward or half-back if required - but all of our energy should be focussed on turning him into an elite midfielder as it's what our team badly needs moving forward.
