I bet you weren't saying that the minute the 2014 draft ended.
Daniel was very highly rated. His height was the only reason he went so low. Even at the time I would have rathered we just kept the pick and used it on someone such as him.

Was one i decided to have a really close look at today and have to say early he just did not work hard enough. His instruction to the younger players and giving them instruction on where to kick was good but there was no gut running or second efforts and at time when he should have been demanding the ball he was pointing to where kick it. Second half was much better but could still have been better . Just has to lift his work rate and second efforts.
To his credit he was bloody creative in the last quarter. If he works on getting into space or running past like Zaka is currently doing he would be one of our most potent weapons.

Cooney is a front runner at present. If things aren't going well he won't stand up. If we're in with a chance of winning he will lift like he did today. Lacks the youthful enthusiasm obviously which is understandable given our position and why he joined the club.

As others have said, he was vital in that last quarter. His best game since, probably, Round 2 last year.
Round two specialist. Quality recruiting ;)

From an effort stand point, that was great to see.

I thought last night Cooney played much better. More involved and some really quick hands at times. I liked his first game, against Sydney I think, and last night's.

Thought it was interesting that Bruce didn't name Rioli. Did he delete the tweet?

Yeah he deleted and tweeted an apology. Great to see Rioli still passionate about Essendon.
