Such sad news. He had one of his best preseasons and still managed to end up under the knife.

If it was me, I'd be throwing in the towel. Hope he is made of better stuff than I am, but wouldn't blame him at all if he decided to hang up the boots and head down media street.

I'm sure Heath will take care of him just as he did last year and we'll see plenty of Narni in the media this year. That's the closest I can get to a positive out of this news.

What does this guy have to do to have even an ounce of luck. Unbefitting of someone of his calibre as a person.

He was unbelievable last year against West Coast from memory spoiling every eagles f50 thrust coming his way.

Hope he can recover in time for the finals.

was watching seven news and saw nathan grima injured his back to have an operation and a possible weeks 17 off. can someone confirm the amount of weeks, it was a short story after some other club rap ups.

Shocking news. Shocking.

And I am beginning to get a bit bored with Narni's media schtick. The old 'let the good times roll' attitude wears thin when he's not out there playing.

Also some advice for our recruiters, just in case: 'grima' is Maltese for 'injury prone'. Please, no more Grimas.

terrible news for Grima but his time was coming to an end unfortunately. Glad we picked up 2 KPD players from the Nov draft. Tippet will play but its time for Tarrant to step up and play the CHB role.

A door closes, another one opens.

This is devastating news for him, I hope he has a great recovery but I am the same as everyone else, I think these constant injuries are going to affect him not only physically but mentally

Our back line is looking like a sore bunch in 2015. Our injuries are starting to worry me but then I do have this confidence that this does give other players to step up (mind you we don't have many stepping up in that role)

Which means, with Hansen & Grima underdone, we could be seeing a lot of Tippett and potentially Nielson & Durdin.

Neilson has the body.

Tippett probably slides into the best 22, Tarrant first reserve, possibly best 22 if Hansen is underdone.

Suddenly Neilson and Durdin are very handy picks, as much as some of us liked Weller etc pre-draft.

Bloody hell. It'd have to be horrible to be a guy like Grima where you're clearly AFL standard but just can't stay on the park.

So what do the haters have to say about our recruiters taking durdin/ nielson now? Seems like they got it spot on once again.

Tippett comes straight in raring to go and now we have Durdin, Nielson and Tarrant all fighting for Firrito's spot if he dips in form at all.

By the way, has anyone actually seen Tarrant down back yet in training? I have very little faith in him succeeding down back tbh..
