1st Final

I've just had a bit of a play around with the Ladder Predictor.

There are a couple of scenarios are: (given that Port beat Freo @ AAMI and Eagles beat Essendon at Subiaco)

- Hawks beat Swans and we'll play them 1st week.
-Hawks lose and we play either North or Collingwood depeding on how they finish.

On form I'd be happy to face either north or Collingwood in the first game as apposed to the Hawks. But most ways you look at it our first final will be at the G against a Vic team.

Hawthorn match up against us better than anyone else. And they are in dynamite form. The question that needs to be answered is...

Do we want to face our demons and take the in form team with the 2nd chance up our sleaves or take the softer option into a prelim?

Personally I'd want to hit the Hawks head on.

Yep, Hawthorn first, West Coast Prelim (Smash!), then Port Grand

I think if they get two home finals then it's almost a straight passage through to the big one.

The worst thing for us is despite clearly finishing on top we get no advantage other than if we play an interstate team at the G or dome.

It should end up a Port vs WC QF, and TBH i think WC would win that one, they got thumped earlier in the year but i think they have a better chance at AAMI then Port would have at Subi.

Agreed. They're in form, but I'd rather take them on early.
If we lose, then we still have another crack.
If we win, then we would have so much confidence that we'd be nigh unbeatable!

It's bullsh*t

the only way we get actual home finals is with a capacity of 35k+ at skilled. something that is well over a decade away.
hard to see the AFL committing any money to that cause. if they had their way we would play all of our games in melbourne
