Why isn't it publicized?
Agree, everything to do with the club, on and off field, are supporters driven. We want to know what the plans are and where the club want to go. then when they dont get there we can vent lol.
But if Benny came out this preseason and said, 85k members and 2 premierships in 5 years time, then we can all sit back and watch it unfold. THen in 3 years time, if we are not looking likely, questions can be asked, and the club can make moves to show that they are adapting and using a back up plan/reassessing the situation

we need to set expectations, and keep people accountable, publicly.

What is the club scared of?

Do you work for the club?

I am not sure why you think the club publicly stating a premiership as an objective is so groundbreaking?

It doesn't make any sense?

Because nuffies like you then crack the sads when an ambitious goal like that doesn't happen because it's a breach of promise

You don't cater to the stupid, and there are measures in place to keep the CEO and board accountable

We don't need to know everything

really?

What are the measures?

YOU might not think you deserve to know, but I would like to know?

You vote board members on, and you can run for the board

I love how people bitch about accountability, but don't even use the options available to them (Sfa go to the Agm for instance)

I really don't think we need a spill of the board in order for them to set a target publicly of us winning the premiership.

That's ridiculous

Don't need to spill the board (although some here have demanded it)

How about ask a question at the Agm if you are this concerned?

You're actually saying that there are clubs in the AFL that are only in the competition for shits and giggles, and not to win premierships?

And what I was alluding to earlier on the retirements was that they were tapped on the shoulder to free up cap space and spots on the list so that we could pick up players during the trade period. You seem to think that the club is coasting and taking things as they come when it's abundantly clear that there are short-, medium- and long-term machinations that are in progress.

Every club is in the competition to win premierships. Wouldnt think that needed to be publicly stated.

what we need to publicise, is our definition of success.

I am not sure we are all on the same page.
Now that we are making finals our next logical step would be to win one and win a premiership shouldnt think that would need to publicly stated. (The definition of succes in this comp is winning a premiership after all).

While the goals of 3 0 75 werent all successful theyve put us in the right position to go forward. We dont need another plan. Be successful in the next few years and this club will explode in growth.

can someone link me to the other 17 clubs' public 5 year plans?

would like to laugh at essendon, carlton and melbourne's
I can give you some CliffNotes:

Essendon:

"There was never nor has there ever been a suggestion of records of a 5 year plan. We do have the strongest belief that if there was a 5 year plan it was all really good and not worth any worry. Please move along.......seriously move along this is harassment and shut up and prove it then."

Carlton:

"The Coach has the full backing of the 5 year plan”

Melbourne:

"AFL reckons Roos will fix it.”

Imo its because trying to win a flag is plainly obvious of all clubs.

What's the point having kpi's if no one is taken to task when they're not met?
The only kpi's that have been met are supporter/members ones which are related to opening up their wallets
It appears the future ones are about sucking more money out of them . Easy targets to meet bc they require no on field performance or FD performance .just us doing our bit again with the admin and FD not held accountable
I've now heard it all
I don't care about 3-0-75 bull , but I do care about the staff performance especially in the FD and they should have the heat on them

This is the attitude of a loser club, a club without ambition and without the balls to bold.

We should publically say that we want to win 2 premierships in the next 5 years and we want 100k members.

I don't care about corporate sponsorship numbers they can keep them.

I am very concerned that we are very happy to make finals and then just make up the numbers. This isn't good enough and we need to demand more from the club and ourselves . Otherwise it will never happen.

Publically state our objectives, be bold and we will all jump onboard.

Who knows we may even win one as a result.

I think the club and its leaders lack courage . We are afraid to fail and that has permeated through the whole organisation

Only the mediocre achieve their full potential

Think before you post , is this the first year we have had delistings and retirements? It's like it has never happened before, ....the club should be aiming for premierships and the last plan wasn't, it achieved what it set out to do mostly, but the target was not a flag end of story, they were happy with finals appearances, and so far nothing has changed from those lofty goals

Where were the flags in their last plan?

Where are the flag KPIs in the 3-0-75?

OK, the club announces tomorrow that they want to win 2 flags in the next 5 years.

So what? It won't change any strategy we have in place. It would just be puff.

Was 3 - 0 - 75 just puff?

The club can't be afraid to submit itself to the public pressure of winning premierships. To do so is to concede that we may not win one before 2020.

We need the mindset of WE WILL win at least 1 premiership by 2020 and the fans will know it, the fans will talk about it, and everyone will feel the pressure of how hard they need to work to succeed.

This club should never be scared to be BOLD.

Actions are louder than words, we don't need to come out with some bullshit five year plan, those things should stay internal.

We should harness the great power of the Tiger Army by standing up tall and publicly demanding success.

Talking about premierships behind closed doors is weak.

The 3-0-75 plan brought our club back to life... The next one will make our club great again. After 3 elimination final losses the message is getting a bit stale externally, it's time to man up and be bold about our ambitions once again.

Jolt our mindset.
